An IP address will now be added to your system, i.e., your system can now be identified with
an IP address.
To add a Printer
Go to St a r t > Con t r o l Pane l > P r in t e r s and Faxes > Add a P r in t e r
The Pr in te r s and Faxes window is displayed.

A shared printer simulates a network environment.
Go to St a r t > Se t t i ngs > Con t r o l Pane l > P r in t e r s and Faxes
Select the printer you installed
Right click and select Jus t enab le Pr in t e r Shar in g
The Enab le Pr in t e r Shar ing window is displayed
Click OK
The Gener i c / Tex t On ly Pr ope r t i es window is displayed
Enter the Shar e nam e
Click App ly and OK to save the settings

To route the Parallel Port to the shared Printer
Run the following command from the DOS prompt.

To resolve the issue, delete the port setting and reset the same. To delete the setting, run the
command n e t u se lp t 1 / d e le t e.
To set the printer path, run the command:

When you use the command net use, you have the option of making it per-
sistent - i.e. it reconnects after a reboot or logout:Persistent Drive Map-
ping Settings: /persistent:yes
The system displays the error message, System error 85 has occurred.
The local device name is already in use if you run the command again,i.e., if you re-route the printer.
