Railway Standard For Fire Safety

EN-45545-2 is the standard of reference for fire and fumes behavior regulation ofthe railway components, adopted by all the EU nations.

Venair railway hose conforms to the EN-45545-2 standard and is available for usea extensive variety of railway applications.

The EN-45545-2 hose categories

HL1HL2HL3 (Being the highest)

Type of vehicleOperation category

All the materials used in rail vehicles must have the EN-45545-2 standard in orderto achieve the highest level of safety possible in the event of a fire.

The classification has three levels, the hazard levels:

For R22 (Hoses placed inside) The limits are more strict than R23 (hoses placedoutside).

Any hazard level can be required, depending on 2 main factors:
