Students with proper paperwork will bring home laptops the first week of school Turn insurance option selection and payment to office

Cellphones are not to be used during the school day 1st offense confiscated and returned at the end of the hour

2nd and future offenses confiscated and turned into the office

Grading and Reporting

Ellis Middle School recognizes that grading, homework, make-up opportunities, report cards, and reporting practices in general should be consistent, accurate, fair, meaningful, research-based, and connected to state and national standards.

Students will receive a knowledge grade and a Life Skills grade.

Knowledge Grade

Weighting Assessments = 90% of grade Practice = 10% of grade

Students can re-take or modify assessments by completing the Retake Contract

Scores earned below 50% are adjusted up to 50% Students must complete any missing assessments

within 10 days of the end of the quarter Student failing a course or 7 or more total quarters

will be required to attend Summer School
