Parent Suggestion Box At the last P&C meeting it was suggested that a Parent Suggestion Box be placed in the office foyer area (by the P&C), so that parents who are unable to attend a P&C meeting could leave suggestions in the box which could be raised in general business for discussion. This motion was passed.

Parents who leave suggestions would be required to leave their name and the suggestion when placed in the suggestion box. Thank you everyone.

Times Tables for this Week Years 3 and 4 will revise the 7 times tables this week. Years 5 and 6 will revise the 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 times tables this week. Mr Graham will see class champions on Monday at 11.30am.

Dogs in the School Grounds No dogs are permitted on the school grounds at any time. This is due to the legal ramifications of a dog biting a child, staff or community member, and the obvious deposits left behind that always seem to find the bottom of shoes. Your support of this request is greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone.

If you have any concerns or issues relating to your child(ren) or school matters in general I would be pleased to discuss these with you. Ian Graham, Principal

Office News... Afternoon Pick-Up and Collection of Children The afternoon is a very busy time in the office and, as such we may experience difficulties in passing on messages, received after 2.45pm, to children in their classrooms. Please note that there are no phones in the classrooms and we do not have a PA system to advise teachers of altered arrangements. Please let your children know, that if they are not collected from their usual pick-up spot by 3.05pm, to make their way to the school office to notify us of the situation and collect any messages that were received too late to be delivered. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Afternoon Receipting Please note that there will be no receipting after 12 noon on Thursdays and Fridays due to the schools’ financial end-of-year on 30 November 2012. Receipting will completely close from midday Wednesday 28 November.

Excursion & Other Payments Term accounts were sent out last Thursday. As our end of financial year is fast approaching we would appreciate that all accounts be finalised by this Friday 23 November.

Moving in 2013? If you are leaving Eleebana Public School at the end of 2012 could parents please leave details at the office asap (parents of Year 6 students are not required to contact us). This allows us to perform our 2013 planning and finalise all 2012 requirements.

Overhead Projectors for Sale by Tender Tenders are being taken for two overhead projectors, closing Friday 23 November. Please contact Mrs Weir in the office if you would like to arrange a viewing time.

Library News... I knew Hannah wouldn’t be alone for long! Cassidy M (3/4E) and Emma W (4T) have also completed the 2013 Premier’s Reading Challenge. Well done!

Our orangutan orphans are making great progress, I was hoping to be able to put the updates on the Library window but unfortunately there have been problems with downloading the information and pictures. The updates can be viewed on the website: www.orangutan.org.au/orphan-updates. Our orphans are Jarot, Wigly, Ugo Blanco and Meki. Library borrowing will cease at the end of this week. All books will need to be returned during Week 8 to allow stocktake to begin. Letters will be sent home at the beginning of Week 9 to remind students to return any outstanding books.

Library Monitors have done an outstanding job this year catering to the needs of up to 120 students in the library at lunchtime. Without their valuable contribution, this service would not be able to function as successfully as it does. All monitor badges will need to be returned by the end of Week 8 so they can be issued to the new monitors at the induction ceremony in 2013.

Our last issue of BookClub for the year will close on Monday, 26 November at

9am.

School Watch... School Watch is a volunteer program that greatly assists our school. The volunteers take a walk through the school grounds at varying hours checking the windows, doors and looking for trespassers. If a volunteer sights anything they are NOT to approach them, but to ring the school watch number (1300 880 221) and let security and/or the police handle the situation from there. So if you are interested in further assisting our great school community, let the school know.

OOSH News... This week at OOSH we will be making fabric pictures, sand art, angels and crystal snowflakes. We will also be cooking crunchy choc dipped fruit.

Re-enrolment packages for current permanent families are out this week. These need to be returned to the centre with your enrolment fee by the 30 November 2012 to secure your positions for 2013. Any permanent families with fees outstanding for 2012 will be unable to re-enrol, so now is the time to get your fees up to date. By the 1

st December we will have a more accurate view of how

many vacant positions we will be able to fill from our waiting list. We are doing the very best we can to provide care for as many families as possible and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

Happy birthday to the following children: Oliver W, Laura J, Noah C, Rylan A and
