District came into existence- 26/8/82 after bifurcation of erstwhile Chandrapur district.

Situated at the East & extreme end of Maharashtra State.

Bhandara district is situated towards north side,

East shares border of Rajnandagaon and Baster naxal affected district of Chhattisgarh State.

Towards south, shares border of Karimnagar, Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh, these neighbouring districts are naxal affected.

• Use of Gotuls (youth dormitories) to encourage the voters to participate in election process– District administration

arranged the awareness programme in the Gotuls with the help of tribal youths.

• It gave good results. – e.g. youths from Marda,

Rajoli, Savela came forward to escort polling parties during elections.


• District administration developed web portal www.rozgar-

kundali.org to give the information about the schemes of

employment with search engine. • During the training of EVM, the demonstration of this

website was also given to the students in the colleges, ITI. • On this website the facility for live counting updates was

provided.
