1. CONDITIONS OF USE

This appliance is intended to be used inhousehold and similar applications suchas:

• Farm Houses

• By clients in serviced apartments, holi-day apartments and other residentialtype environments

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Before the installation and use of the ap-pliance, carefully read the supplied in-structions. The manufacturer is not re-sponsible if an incorrect installation anduse causes injuries and damages. Alwayskeep the instructions with the appliancefor future reference.

2.1 Children and vulnerablepeople safety

WARNING!Risk of suffocation, injury or per-manent disability.

• This appliance can be used by childrenaged from 8 years and above and per-sons with reduced physical, sensory ormental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been givensupervision or instruction for the opera-tion of the appliance by a person who isresponsible for their safety.

• Do not let children play with the appli-ance.

• Keep all packaging away from children.

• Keep all detergents away from children.

• Keep children and pets away from theappliance door when it is open.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shallnot be made by children without super-vision.

2.2 Installation

• Remove all the packaging.

• Do not install or use a damaged appli-ance.

• Obey the installation instruction sup-plied with the appliance.

• Make sure that the floor where you in-stall the appliance is flat, stable, heatresistant and clean.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature is less than 5°Cor higher than 35°C.

• Do not install the appliance behind alockable door, a sliding door or a doorwith a hinge on the opposite side,where the appliance door can not befully opened.

• Always be careful when you move theappliance because it is heavy. Alwayswear safety gloves.

• Always move the appliance vertically.

• The rear surface of the appliance mustbe put against the wall.

• Make sure that there is air circulationbetween the appliance and the floor.

• Make sure the carpet does not obstructthe ventilation openings in the base ofthe appliance (if applicable).

• Exhaust air must not be discharged intoa flue which is used for exhaustingfumes from appliances burning gas orother fuels. (if applicable)

• If the tumble dryer is put on top of awashing machine, use the stacking kit.The stacking kit, available from your au-thorized vendor, can be used only withthe appliance specified in the instruc-tions, supplied with the accessory.Read it carefully before installation (Re-fer to the Installation leaflet).

• Ensure you have good ventilation in theinstallation room to avoid the back flowof gases into the room from appliancesburning other fuels, including open fires.

• The appliance can be installed as free-standing or below the kitchen counterwith correct space (Refer to the Installa-tion leaflet).

• When the appliance is put in its perma-nent position, check if it is fully levelwith the aid of a spirit level. If it is not,adjust the feet until it is.

Electrical connection

WARNING!Risk of fire and electrical shock.

• The appliance must be earthed.

• Make sure that the electrical informationon the rating plate agrees with the pow-er supply. If not, contact an electrician.

• Always use a correctly installed shock-proof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters and ex-tension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage to themains plug and to the mains cable.Should the appliance power supply ca-ble need to be replaced, this must becarried out by our Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of the installa-tion. Make sure that there is access tothe mains plug after the installation.

• Do not pull the mains cable to discon-nect the appliance. Always pull themains plug.

• Do not touch the mains cable or themains plug with wet hands.

• This appliance complies with the E.E.C.Directives.

2.3 Use

WARNING!Risk of fire, explosion, electricshock or damage to the appliance

• Use this appliance in a household only.

• Do not change the specification of thisappliance.

• The final part of the drying cycle occurswithout heat (cool down cycle) to en-sure that the items will not be dam-aged.

If you stop the appliance before the endof the drying cycle, immediately removeand spread out all items, so that theheat can dissipate.

• If you use fabric softener or similarproducts, obey the instructions on thepackaging.

• Do not run the appliance without a filter.Clean the lint filter before or after eachuse.

• Wipe away lint that has accumulatedaround the appliance.

• Do not dry the damaged items whichcontain padding or fillings.

• Do not dry items such as foam rubber(latex foam), shower caps, waterprooftextiles, rubber backed articles andclothes or pillows fitted with foam rub-ber pads..

• Before drying items that have been incontact with substances such as cook-ing oil, acetone, alcohol , petrol, kero-sene, spot removers, turpentine, waxesand wax removers, wash them in hotwater with an extra amount of deter-gent.

• Do not dry items in the appliance if in-dustrial chemicals have been used forcleaning.

• Make sure that no gas lighters ormatches have been left in the pocketsof the clothing.

• Only dry fabrics which are applicable todry in the tumble dryer. Follow the in-structions on the fabric label.

• Do not dry not washed items in the ap-pliance.

• If you have washed your laundry with astain remover start an extra rinse cyclebefore you start the dryer.

• Do not drink or prepare food with thecondensed water/distilled water. It cancause health problems to people andpets.

• Do not sit or stand on the open door.

• Obey the maximum load volume of 7 kg(refer to the “Programme chart” chap-ter).

• Do not dry dripping wet clothes in thetumble dryer.

• Oil-affected items can ignite spontane-ously, especially when exposed to heatsources such as in a tumble dryer. Theitems become warm, causing an oxida-tion reaction in the oil. Oxidation cre-ates heat. If the heat cannot escape,the items can become hot enough tocatch fire. Piling, stacking or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat fromescaping and create a fire hazard.

• If it is unavoidable that fabrics that con-tain vegetable or cooking oil or havebeen contaminated by hair care prod-ucts be placed in a tumble dryer theyshould first be washed in hot water withextra detergent -this will reduce, but noteliminate, the hazard.

2.4 Care and Cleaning

• Before maintenance, deactivate the ap-pliance and disconnect the mains plugfrom the mains socket.

• Do not use water spray and steam toclean the appliance.

• Clean the appliance with a moist softcloth. Only use neutral detergents. Donot use abrasive products, abrasivecleaning pads, solvents or metal ob-jects.

2.5 Disposal

WARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.

• Remove the door catch to prevent chil-dren and pets to get closed in the ap-pliance.

6. OPTIONS

6.1 Time

This option is applicable only to the TimeDrying programme. You can set the pro-gramme duration, from a minimum of 10minutes to a maximum of 2 hours. Thesetting of the duration is related to thequantity of laundry in the appliance.We recommend that you set a short dura-tion for small quantities of laundry or foronly one item.

6.2 Delicate

With this option you can set a delicatedrying programme that has a low temper-ature. Use this option with synthetic fab-

rics that have the symbol on the fabriclabel (e.g. acrylic, viscose).

6.3 Buzzer

When the buzzer function is activated,you can hear the buzzer at the:

• cycle end

• start and end of crease guard phase

• cycle interruptionThe buzzer function is by default alwayson. You can use this function to activateor deactivate the sound.

You can activate the Buzzer op-tion with all programmes.

7.1 Child lock function

This option prevents children to play withthe appliance while a programme oper-ates. The programme knob and the

touchpads are locked. Only OFFswitch is unlocked.

Activating the child lock option

1. Use the programme knob to set anyprogramme.

2. Press and hold touchpads (A) and (D)at the same time until the child lock in-dicator comes on.

• It is possible to deactivate the childlock option while a programme op-erates. Press and hold the same

touchpads until the child lock indi-cator goes off.

7.2 Water hardness andconductivity

Water hardness is different for different lo-cations. Water hardness has an effect onthe water conductivity and on the con-ductivity sensor of the appliance. If youknow, the value of the water conductivityyou can adjust the sensor in order to havebetter drying results.

Adjusting the conductivity sensor

1. Use the programme knob to set anyprogramme.

2. Press and hold touchpads (A) and (B)at the same time until one of the theseindicators comes on:

• (low <300 μS/cm)

• (moderate 300-600 μS/cm)

• (high >600 μS/cm)

3. Press the touchpad (E) again andagain until the indicator of the correctlevel comes on.

4. To confirm the adjustment, press andhold touchpads (A) and (B) at thesame time for approximately 2 sec-onds.

8. DAILY USE

Before you use the appliance for thefirst time

1. Clean the appliance drum with a moistcloth.

2. Start a short programme (e.g. 30 mi-nutes) with moist laundry.

8.1 Starting a programmewithout delay start

1. Prepare the laundry and load the ap-pliance.

2. Set the correct programme and op-tions for the type of load.

• The display shows the programmeduration.

3. Press the Start/Pause touchpad, theprogramme starts.

CAUTION!Make sure that when you closethe door, the laundry does notcatch between the appliance doorand the rubber seal.

2. Press the delay start button again andagain until the display shows the delaytime you want to set.

• You can delay the start of a pro-gramme from a minimum of 30 mi-nutes to a maximum of 20 hours.

3. Press the Start/Pause touchpad, thecountdown starts. The display showsthe countdown of the delay start.

• When the countdown is completed,the programme starts.

8.3 Change a programme

1. Turn the Programme knob to OFF

2. Set the programme.

8.4 At the end of theprogramme

When the programme is completed,

• An intermittent acoustic signal oper-ates.

• The indicator flashes.

• The indicator comes on.

• The Start/Pause indicator is on.The appliance continues to operate withthe crease guard phase for approximately30 minutes.The crease guard phase removes creasesfrom your laundry.

You can remove the laundry before thecrease guard phase is completed. Werecommend, for better results, that youremove the laundry when the phase is al-most completed or completed.When the crease guard phase is comple-ted:

• The indicator is on but does not flash.

• The indicator goes off.

• Start/Pause indicator goes off.

1. Turn the Programme knob to OFF

2. Open the appliance door.

3. Remove the laundry.

4. Close the appliance door.

Always clean the filter and emptythe water container when a pro-gramme is completed.

8.5 Auto STAND-BY function

To decrease the energy consumption, thisfunction automatically deactivates the ap-pliance:

• After 5 minutes if you do not start theprogramme.

• After 5 minutes from the end of the pro-gramme.

9. HINTS AND TIPS

9.1 Preparing the laundry

• Close the zippers.

• Close the fasteners of the duvet covers.

• Do not keep ties or ribbons loose (e.g.apron ribbons). Tie them before youstart a programme.

• Remove all items from the pockets.

• If an item has the internal layer made ofcotton, turn it inside out. Make sure thatthe cotton layer is always external.

• We recommend that you set the cor-rect programme applicable for the typeof fabrics that are in the appliance.

• Do not put fabrics with strong colourstogether with fabrics with light colours.Strong colours can bleed.

• Use an applicable programme for cot-ton jersey and knitwear to prevent theitems shrinking.

• Make sure that the laundry weight isnot more than the maximum weightthat is in the programme table.

• Dry only the laundry that is suitable fortumble dryer. Refer to the fabric labelon the items.

11. TROUBLESHOOTING

You cannot activate the appliance. Make sure that the mains plug is connec-ted to the mains socket.

14. WARRANTY

FOR SALES IN AUSTRALIA AND NEWZEALANDAPPLIANCE: ELECTROLUX DRYERThis document sets out the terms andconditions of the product warrantiesfor Electrolux Appliances. It is an im-portant document. Please keep it withyour proof of purchase documents ina safe place for future referenceshould you require service for yourAppliance.

1. In this warranty

a) ‘acceptable quality’ as referred toin clause 10 of this warranty hasthe same meaning referred to inthe ACL;

b) ‘ACL’ means Trade PracticesAmendment (Australian ConsumerLaw) Act (No.2) 2010;

c) ‘Appliance’ means any Electroluxproduct purchased by you ac-companied by this document;

d) ‘ASC’ means Electrolux’ author-ised serviced centres;

e) ‘Electrolux’ means ElectroluxHome Products Pty Ltd of 163O’Riordan Street, Mascot, NSW2020, ABN 51 004 762 341 in re-spect of Appliances purchased inAustralia and Electrolux (NZ) Limi-ted of 3-5 Niall Burgess Road,Mount Wellington, in respect of

Appliances purchased in NewZealand;

f) ‘major failure’ as referred to inclause 10 of this warranty has thesame meaning referred to in theACL and includes a situation whenan Appliance cannot be repairedor it is uneconomic for Electrolux,at its discretion, to repair an Appli-ance during the Warranty Period;

g) ‘Warranty Period’ means:

– where the Appliance is used forpersonal, domestic or house-hold use (i.e. normal single fami-ly use) as set out in the instruc-tion manual, the Appliance iswarranted against manufactur-ing defects in Australia for 24months and in New Zealand for24 months, following the date oforiginal purchase of the Appli-ance;

– where the Appliance is used forcommercial purposes (includingbeing used to directly assist abusiness or where the Appli-ance is used in a multi-familycommunal or share type envi-ronment), the Appliance willthen be warranted against man-ufacturing defects in Australiafor 3 months and in New Zea-land for 3 months, following thedate of original purchase of theAppliance.

h) ‘you’ means the purchaser of theAppliance not having purchasedthe Appliance for re-sale, and‘your’ has a corresponding mean-ing.

2. This warranty only applies to Applian-ces purchased and used in Australiaor New Zealand and is in addition to(and does not exclude, restrict, ormodify in any way) any non-excluda-ble statutory warranties in Australia orNew Zealand.

3. During the Warranty Period Electroluxor its ASC will, at no extra charge ifyour Appliance is readily accessiblefor service, without special equipmentand subject to these terms and con-ditions, repair or replace any partswhich it considers to be defective.Electrolux or its ASC may use rema-nufactured parts to repair your Appli-

ance. You agree that any replacedAppliances or parts become theproperty of Electrolux. This warrantydoes not apply to light globes, batter-ies, filters or similar perishable parts.

4. Parts and Appliances not supplied byElectrolux are not covered by thiswarranty.

5. You will bear the cost of transporta-tion, travel and delivery of the Appli-ance to and from Electrolux or itsASC. If you reside outside of the serv-ice area, you will bear the cost of:

a) travel of an authorised representa-tive;

b) transportation and delivery of theAppliance to and from Electroluxor its ASC,

In all instances, unless the Applianceis transported by Electrolux or anElectrolux authorised representative,the Appliance is transported at theowner’s cost and risk while in transitto and from Electrolux or its ASC.

6. Proof of purchase is required beforeyou can make a claim under this war-ranty.

7. You may not make a claim under thiswarranty unless the defect claimed isdue to faulty or defective parts orworkmanship. Electrolux is not liablein the following situations (which arenot exhaustive):

a) the Appliance is damaged by:

– accident

– misuse or abuse, including fail-ure to properly maintain or serv-ice

– normal wear and tear

– power surges, electrical stormdamage or incorrect powersupply

– incomplete or improper installa-tion

– incorrect, improper or inappro-priate operation

– insect or vermin infestation

– failure to comply with any addi-tional instructions supplied withthe Appliance;

b) the Appliance is modified withoutauthority from Electrolux in writing;

c) the Appliance’s serial number orwarranty seal has been removedor defaced;

d) the Appliance was serviced or re-paired by anyone other than Elec-trolux, an authorised repairer orASC.

8. This warranty, the contract to which itrelates and the relationship betweenyou and Electrolux are governed bythe law applicable where the Appli-ance was purchased. Where the Ap-pliance was purchased in New Zea-land for business purposes the Con-sumer Guarantee Act does not apply.

9. To the extent permitted by law, Elec-trolux excludes all warranties and lia-bilities (other than as contained in thisdocument) including liability for anyloss or damage whether direct or indi-rect arising from your purchase, useor non use of the Appliance.

10. For Appliances and services providedby Electrolux in Australia, the Applian-ces come with a guarantee by Elec-trolux that cannot be excluded underthe Australian Consumer Law. Youare entitled to a replacement or re-fund for a major failure and for com-pensation for any other reasonablyforeseeable loss or damage. You arealso entitled to have the Appliance re-paired or replaced if the Appliancefails to be of acceptable quality andthe failure does not amount to a ma-jor failure. The benefits to you given

by this warranty are in addition toyour other rights and remedies undera law in relation to the Appliances orservices to which the warranty re-lates.

11. At all times during the Warranty Peri-od, Electrolux shall, at its discretion,determine whether repair, replace-ment or refund will apply if an Appli-ance has a valid warranty claim appli-cable to it.

12. For Appliances and services providedby Electrolux in New Zealand, the Ap-pliances come with a guarantee byElectrolux pursuant to the provisionsof the Consumer Guarantees Act, theSale of Goods Act and the Fair Trad-ing Act.

13. To enquire about claiming under thiswarranty, please follow these steps:

a) carefully check the operating in-structions, user manual and theterms of this warranty;

b) have the model and serial numberof the Appliance available;

c) have the proof of purchase (eg aninvoice) available;

d) telephone the numbers shown be-low.

14. You accept that if you make a war-ranty claim, Electrolux and its ASCmay exchange information in relationto you to enable Electrolux to meet itsobligations under this warranty.
