“On Campus Pool Drive” by IDBI FEDERAL LIFE INSURANCE CO LTD, was conducted during

4th

– 5th

March 2016, by the placement office and three of our IT Final Year Students namely

E.Rajaraman, R.Priyadhashin & N.Niveka, got selected through this Drive. They were appreciated by

our college principal and our department head while the placement order was given to them.

“On Campus - Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd., Bangalore” was conducted on 8th

May 2016. Final year

students of IT attended the group discussions & face to face interviews. Ms.K.Kavi Sumitha was

shortlisted under this drive.

HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS - RECRUITMENT DRIVE

Awareness Programme on “Diverse Learning Needs" was held at the graduation hall on 19.01.16.

Dr.R.Manjuladevi, M.B.B.S., D.P.M, Professional Counselor & Consultant Psychiatrist, gave a special

lecture on how to come out of Anxiety and how to manage / control the stress.

Our Principal, Dr.R.Varatharajan, presided over the function and Mr.D.Duraikumar, Head,

Department of Information Technology, introduced the chief guest and gave valuable suggestions on

stress management. All the faculty members of GTEC attended this session to get awareness on the physic

problems, causes and symptoms of it.

WORKSHOPS / SEMINARS / GUEST LECTURES

Workshop on "Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme" was organized on 2.2.2016. Our Principal,

Dr.R.Varatharajan, presided over the function and gave welcome address to the chief guest.

Mr.R.Subramaninam, Chief Manager (Tech), National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Chennai,

gave introductory talk on the difference between an Entrepreneur and an Employee. Videos on the NSIC

units have been shown to the audience and he has elaborated the significance of doing business and

sustaining through good leadership qualities. All the faculty members and students of III Year from various

departments participated in this programme and the individual registrations were done. Mr.D.Duraikumar,

Head / Department of Information Technology, introduced the chief guest and gave immense ideas on

entrepreneurship.

Essay Competition (English / Tamil) on

“Mahaveer Philosophy” was organized in our

college on 5.3.2016 at Bhagwan Paraswanath

Block (PG Block). Merely 500 students

attended in this competition. This programme

Word Building Game was organized on 5.3.2016 at the Multimedia Lab of IT department,

Mr.D.Duraikumar, Associate Professor & Head / IT, presented the question sessions and all the students

of II Year, III Year & IV Year IT, actively participated in this Event.

Soft Skill Programme was conducted by Mr.D.Duraikumar, Head & Associate Professor / IT, during 9th

– 10th

March 2016 for Second, Third & Final year IT Students to enhance their Interview Skills.

Motivational Speech was given by Alumni Students on 12.3.2016 at Multimedia lab of Information

Technology department. Students of II, III & Final Year of IT and Communication club Members were

actively participated in this event. The Alumni adviced all the students to get practice on Quantitative

apptitude and have a group discussion among themselves. They also insisted the students to improve their

communication skills and avoid hesitations at the time of interviews.

“Word B Game” was organized by IT department on 19.3.2016. The students from II & III year of IT

actively participated in this event and Mr.D.Duraikumar, Head / IT, organized the entrie session.

One day Guest Lecture on “DevExpress Tool (.Net)” was organized by the department of Information

Technology. Mr.Jayaprakash Rajendran, Senior Software Engineer Enacomn Ing, United States,

gave a detailed explanation about the creation of web services using Devtools.

One Day Workshop on “Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform and IoT” was organized by the

department of Information Technology at RDBMS Lab on 15th

June, 2016. Mr.Saravanan &

Mr.Sumanth, Microsoft India, were the resource persons and they have demonstrated Cloud based

environment and explained the techniques behind it. Online certificates were issued to the students on that

day itself. Our Principal Dr.R.Varatharajan, presided over the function and Mr.D.Duraikumar,

HOD/IT, delivered the Welcome address. Faculty members & Students of IT & CSE Departments

participated in this event.

“CSI Day” was celebrated on 11.3.16 at the Gradutaion hall. Mr.HR Mohan,Vice Chairman, IEEE

Madras Section, Chair, IEEE CS & PCS, Imm.Past President, CSI former (AVP) systems, The Hindu

presided over the function and delivered presenation on Youtube strategies and the current trends in

Internet. During this Session, puzzles were conducted and prizes were distibuted.
