The Ed-Fi Alliance was founded as an organization dedicated to empowering educators with real-time, actionable education data on every student in their classrooms, schools, districts or states. With input from the Ed-Fi Community, the Alliance continually updates the Ed-Fi Data Standard and expands the Ed-Fi Implementation Suite of technical components, designed to integrate and organize raw education data and information from a broad range of existing disparate data sources so it can be integrated, analyzed and put to use every day.

Ed-Fi Dashboards 1.3 is the result of innovative contributions from the Ed-Fi Community that empower educators with real-time, actionable data on every student in their classrooms, schools, districts, or states.

• Community contributions from state education agencies like Pennsylvania, Arkansas, and Delaware are just a few examples of the collaboration and effectiveness of the Ed-Fi community.

• New educator insight capabilities made possible by Ed-Fi Dashboards 1.3, demonstrate the value of using community proven, research based technology that is developed from educator input.

DYNAMIC WATCH LISTSDynamic Lists are a feature contributed by the Arkansas Department of Education that provide educators a dynamic grouping of students based on selected, customizable, filters.

• Filters include attendance, discipline, course, assessments, and sub-populations giving educators the flexibility and control they need to effectively identify patterns and impact student groups that may be underperforming.

• Once a Dynamic List has been created, students automatically come on or drop off a list and alert the teacher of changes, eliminating the time required to maintain custom lists.

• The criteria used for a dynamic list can be shared with all educators in a secure fashion so they can view their own students who meet a common set of criteria, ensuring consistent identification and monitoring across students, classrooms and schools.

DYNAMIC WATCH LISTS

• Group and monitor students based on educator defined criteria

• Real-time view of students that meet criteria

• Criteria for lists can be shared among peers

STANDARDS MASTERY VIEWThe standards mastery view is a feature contributed by the Delaware Department of Education and provides educators with insight on student performance on all assessment tests to date and the ability to drill down by learning standard.

Standards Mastery View can:• Be applied to any local assessment that aligns with defined educational

standards, allowing educators to assess progress along state expectations of student performance.

• Help educators tailor instruction by monitoring progress on specific learning standards over time to ensure students are mastering material.

PLUG-IN ARCHITECTUREEd-Fi Dashboards 1.3 incorporates a robust plug-in architecture contributed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that provides the ability to add unique dashboard features being requested by educators using a well-defined and well documented process—lowering the cost of customization.

• Plugin modules are self-contained, allowing developers to extend the out-of-the-box functionality without affecting the core dashboard functionality or other dashboard plugins—removing risk when developing new dashboard features.

• Ed-Fi Dashboards 1.3 includes sample plugin modules that provide step-by-step instructions to create, build, and run a plugin module, making dashboard customization a straightforward task that can be completed in-house.

ETL ENHANCEMENTSDashboard ETL packages now provide advanced reports that are automatically generated, making it easier to evaluate ETL performance, identify potential data bottlenecks, and ensure data fidelity.

• ETL package reports can also be customized providing system administrators a view of performance that matches their unique system environment.
