EasyCoaxLite is a technology, entirely developed at Tecatel, that uses the existing coax cable network, and

sets up a conditional access system at the rooms, to enable the management of pay tv packs, allowing the

guests to access by simply inserting a card in the tv set.

The system is composed of 5 elements:

1. Back Office system: ECL-BCK.

2. Filter: ECL-STB.

3. Smart card: ECL-TAR.

4. Master smart card: ECL-MCR.

5. Kiosk vending machine: ECL-KSC.

Back Office - System Administrator

The system is based in the use of a smart card and a filter. The Back Office

system enables staff at reception to read and write on users´ smart cards,

as well as managing credit, sales, billing, prices, statistics, etc. all from the

reception desk.

The Back Office system is composed of an intuitive PC based software and a

USB type smart card reader/recorder.

The use of smart cards in the system is safe, it allows an unlimited number of

rooms; and it enables a very easy update at any moment.

Smart Cart

There are two types of smart cards in the system: the User´s smart card and

the Master smart card for the hotel staff.

The secured user´s smart card provides identification of the room, hotel, and

chain, and permits multiple business models such as monthly, quarterly, yearly

subscription, as well as the link to the hotel fidelity program.

The Master smart card enables the hotel staff to fix the setting parameters in

an easy, quick, and safe way. It also provides access to the kiosk machine for

cash collection and maintenance.

Filter

The filter gives the guest access to the tv services. This unit will be

installed in every room. The number of filters per system is unlimited.

The service will be activated by the user when inserting the smart card,

previously delivered at check-in, or acquired at the kiosk machine, into

the filter.

Insertion of the conditional access smart card will automatically activate

an unlock signal that will release the channel package and the countdown

timer. Information about the remaining time will be shown in the display.

The system can be set up easily and in a secure way by the hotel staff

by means of the Master smart card, to guaranty system inviolability. The

system allows filter up to four different packages, depending on the

model of filter installed.

The filter is powered by an external adaptor, or by the tv set, via USB

port. The design of the housing allows its installation in both sides of the

tv set.

The filter is compatible with all SMATV head-ends available in the market.

Filter

Low power LED display, which provides information about the remaining viewing time as well as information about the details of the packs purchased with the card. This way the guest is always informed, avoiding calls to reception. In summary, the guest manages his card balance and consumptions.

Quartz crystal to provide precision and security to the system.

Last generation microprocessor, capable to execute all calculations and controls to ensure the continued operation of the system: permissions, credit, remaining times, etc.

High capacity Lithium battery that powers up the system memory, prevents the system from being sabotaged, and the most important, enables the terminal to keep all memory data even when disconnected for a long lapse of time.

5V power supply with only 150mA consumption located internally to avoid any accidental disconnection, and that permits the terminal to be powered from the TV set through a USB connector.

Band-pass filters totally designed and mounted on SMD technology, to give the system a great selectivity and precision.

The kiosk vending machine allows the customer to buy and reload credit in

his smart card. Equipped with a touch screen and an intuitive and easy-to-

use interface. It is theft/vandal resistant.

By following very simple steps, the customer will be able to buy his smart card

and to load credit on it. The insertion of this smart card in the filter located

in the room will display on

the screen the activated

packages.

The kiosk machine enables

the customer to reload

credit, the return of smart

card and the refund of the

remaining credit.

This is a highly advanced unit that not only delivers smart cards but also

contains a complete administrator Interface which enables the setting up of

the entire business model; sends emails with information of sales; provides

The user ID system enables the access to all kiosk set up and maintenance

functions from the kiosk

itself, without requiring

any external application or

keyboards. Only by inserting

the Master smart card, the

kiosk will activate the specific

The smart software enables getting statistics from the kiosk through a series of graphics, which are automatically sent

by email. These figures are automatically sent to the email addresses recorded in the system, and according to a

programmed schedule.

Perfectly designed graphics to resume all the necessary information, in order to have knowledge about the exact account

situation of the system:

Reports can be customizable by the administrator and

enable statistics design and controls:
