The standard contract of 5 years 11 00,000 km (whichever occurs first) is built-in with every new BMW.

The Benefits of BMW Motorplan Motorplan provides you with the peace of mind in knowing that your vehicle will be attended to by qualified techl-~icians, using advanced techl-~ologies, and genuine BMW parts.

BMW Motorplan includes: All maintenance and repair work stipulated in the BMW vehicle service booklet. All repairs and costs of parts from normal wear and tear. All oils, brake fluids and other lubricants replaced during a service. Access to 24-hour roadside assistance (BMW On Call).

BMW Motorplan excludes: All alterations, modifications, accessories, tyres, glass, soft-top canvass, and accident damage. Any repair work resulting from the owner's negligence or abuse. Paint, body and trim repairs.

BMW Motorplan Renewal Your peace of rr~ind does not have to come to the end of the road. Motorplan car1 be renewed up to 7 years/200,000 km, the most extensive option available. However your Motorplan renewal must be taken up before the current one expires.

The added benefit is that you pay at current prices for future services. Motorplan is transferable to another owner should you sell your BMW.

Definitions. Section 2.41

This section covers terms and abbreviations used relating to Warranty.

Warranty period.

The undertaking given to every purchaser and all persons who may acquire the vehicle from the purchaser of a new BMW or NllNl Product that manufacturing defects will be rectified promptly and free of charge.

The period of time for which the Warranty applies, i.e, for BMW or NlllVl Cars the Warranty period is 24 months from the date of first retail sale, or when the vehicle is taken into use as a demonstration model or used prior to the first retail sale or registration by the BMW or MlNl Dealer or customer, whichever is soonest, with no kilometre restriction.

BMW or MlNl Genuine the Warranty period is 24 months from the date of sale, with no kilometre restriction.

NB: "Retail Sale" is the sale of the product to any person or organisation other than a BMW or MlNl Dealer.

BMW or MlNl Genuine Parts installed in a vehicle by an authorised BMW or MlNl Dealer are warranted for 24 months as from from date of first sale, regardless of any subsequent Warranty replacementls or repairls during that time. Parts sold over the counter will only cover the cost of the replacement components and not the labour thereof. Parts that need special tools or specialised fitments are excluded from this Warranty, namely: engine internal components, cambelts, etc.

Extract from the vehicle Service Booklet:

1. The Warrantor hereby warrants this vehicle to be free from defects in material and workmanship in accordance with the technological standards applicable at the time of purchase.

2. In the event that any defect in material or workmanship in the vehicle should manifest itself within a period of twenty four months from the date of sale of the vehicle, the Warrantor undertakes as follows:

a. That he will repair or replace at his own cost and without charge to the Purchaser the defective part of workmanship. The decision of the Warrantor as to whether the defective part should be repaired or replaced and the place where the guarantee is to be executed shall be at the sole discretion of the Warrantor but shall give due consideration to the interest of the Purchaser.

b. The aforementioned undertaking is given subject to the following qualifications:

i. No claim under this Warranty will be entertained and no replacement or repair will be effected unless it is promptly reported to the Warrantor or a BMW or MlNl authorised Dealer immediately following discovery.

ii. The Purchaser shall, upon discovery of the defect, be obliged to bring the vehicle to the workshop of the Warrantor or a BMW or MlNl authorised Dealer.

. . . III. Parts for which replacements are made shall become the property of the Warrantor

or the BMW or MlNl authorised Dealer.

3. This Warranty shall lapse and the Warrantor shall not be obliged to give effect hereto if the Purchaser fails to have all maintenance services and oil changes performed at the specified intervals and in accordance with the instructions in the owner's handbook. Proof of such maintenance must be provided by pa~d invoice and the filling in of the appropriate spaces in the owner's handbook.

4. This Warranty shall not apply in the following circumstances:

a. If the maintenance services and oil changes are not performed by an authorised BMW or MlNl Dealer and at the specified intervals in the owner's handbook.

b. If the vehicle is used in competitive events or racing or rally e vents.

c. If the damage is due to natural wear and tear or damage attributable to negligence or improper treatment or atmospheric or environmental conditions or other damages caused through corrosion from any cause by accident.

5. This Warranty is given in favour of the Purchaser and all persons who may acquire the vehicle from the purchaser within the period of 24 months.
