COFFEE CAFÉ CRAWL! - LANgWITH COLLEgE TIME: 9:30 - 12:00

Join Langwith tutor Sarah, as we travel to 5-6 coffee cafes within York known for their superb coffee, delicious food and treats and/or charming atmosphere. Space will be limited to 15 as many of the stops are small and not suited to large groups. We will take the bus into town and walk to all the locations.

PAINTINg SESSIONS - WENTWORTH COLLEgE TIME: Every Sunday at 10:00 amVENUE: Wentworth Staff & Graduate Common Room W/135

The sessions will be led by our College Tutor - Anastasia. She will not be teaching painting, the purpose of the session is to give students whom are interested in this type of activity the opportunity of relaxing, paint what they want, maybe learn from other members of the class, and enjoy using the free equipment and dedicated space for this activity. All equipment will be provided by the College. The sessions will start initially with acrylic painting.

SECURITY

Security staff will continue to patrol the campus 24 hours a day and will provide a response service to queries and emergencies.

Non-emergency requests If your college Porter is not available over the Easter vacation, please use the phone (grey or red) in your college foyer to contact the Duty Security Controller. Alternatively, dial 4444 from any internal telephone or 01904 32 4444 from a mobile phone.

Emergency requests If you have an emergency situation and need to contact Security please use the phone (grey or red) in your college foyer to contact the Duty Security Controller. Alternatively, dial 3333 from any internal telephone, or 01904 32 3333 from a mobile, or 0800 43 3333 to make a freephone call from a payphone. Your call will be answered by the Duty Security Controller and your enquiry will be treated as an emergency.

Always call Security on 3333 if emergency services such as police, ambulance or fire brigade are required on campus. Security will make the call on your behalf and ensure the correct area of campus is reached.

MAINTENANCE

EmergenciesIf you require emergency maintenance in your hall of residence, for example to fix a leak, please contact the Duty Security Controller by calling extension 3333 from any internal telephone or 01904 32 3333 from a mobile phone.

LAUNdERETTES

All launderettes on campus will be accessible during the vacation period and are open 24 hours a day.

IT SERvICES

IT Support Office will be closed on Good Friday (3 April) and Easter Monday (6 April). Emails to the IT Support Office and messages left on our voicemail will be answered on Tuesday 7 April.

IT Services staff will continue to monitor IT systems to ensure that they are operating correctly. Paper will be topped up in all York Print Plus devices for students before Good Friday (3 April). The York Print plus devices in the Library will also be checked by Library staff over the Easter weekend.

All services should be available as usual outside normal hours but access to IT rooms will be subject to college opening hours.

LIbRARY

The Library will be open 24 hours a day over the Easter vacation. However, over the Easter weekend (from 6pm on Thursday 2 April until 9am on Tuesday 7 April) the Library will be self-service only. You’ll need your Library card to enter the building. Staff will be available to answer general enquiries but not to offer any specialist support (see www.york.ac.uk/library/locations/service/ for more details).

King’s Manor Library will be closed from 5pm on Thursday 2 April until 9am on Tuesday 7 April.

POST

University Post RoomT 01904 32 2049

The University Post Room will be working as usual up to and including Thursday 2 April. It will re-open as normal on Tuesday 7 April.

The small mail room at Goodricke nucleus where students can collect their parcels is open every day, Monday – Friday 08:00 to 15:00, but will be closed, as above, over Easter.

Campus Health CentreThe University Health Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am – 6.00pm.

The Health Centre will be open as usual throughout the Easter vacation except for Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April.





The Stay and Wait Drop-in clinic continues to run during vacations, opening at 8.30am.

If you need urgent medical help during this period, or outside usual surgery hours, please telephone 111. For emergencies only, dial 999

For non-urgent medical advice whilst the Campus Health Centre is closed, please call 01904 646861.

If you need to contact the emergency services please call one of the following numbers:

For calls made on the University campus, or relating to an incident on campus dial 3333 (from an internal telephone) or 01904 32 3333 (from a mobile phone) and tell the Duty Security Controller what has happened and where you are. The Duty Security Controller can telephone the Emergency Service(s) and inform them exactly where on campus the incident has taken place.

For calls made off the University campus call 999 from any telephone. The call is free and the person taking your call will ask you some questions so that they can help you as much as possible.

Your:Shop The shop will be open as follows over the Easter holiday period:

Open 08:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday (closed weekends). Over the Easter bank holiday weekend, from Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April, the shop will be closed.

Additionally the shop will be closed on Friday 20 March for stocktaking.

Design and Print SolutionsOpen from 08.45 – 16:30 (16:00 on a Friday) Monday to Friday over the Easter holidays. Closed on Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April.

FEES OFFICE

Finance Service counters and the Payments Office will be open as usual apart from Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April, when it will be closed.

Usual opening hours are 10:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday.

STUdENT SUPPORT HUb

This includes Disability Services, Immigration Advice Service, International Student Support, Student Financial Support Unit and Student Welfare Advice.

The Student Support Hub will be open as normal apart from Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April when it will be closed. Usual opening hours during holidays are Monday to Friday 10:00 – 16:00.


THE OPEN dOOR TEAM

The Open Door Team will be working as usual from Monday to Friday 10:00 until 16:00 except for Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April when it will be closed.

CAREERS

Between 16 March – 10 April, Careers will be open Monday – Thursday from 10:00 – 16:00, except for Monday 16 March, Tuesday 31 March (10.00 – 12.00 only) and Monday 6 April when it will be closed.

Careers advice appointments will run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons throughout the Easter vacation. CVs and applications can be reviewed at these advice appointments. Appointments are bookable via www.york.ac.uk/careers/gateway

YUSU

YUSU (York University Students’ Union) Offices will be closed on Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April. YUSU will be open from 10am – 5pm during the rest of the Easter holiday period.

The Courtyard bar will close on Friday 20 March and will re-open on Sunday 12 April.

The Glasshouse bar will close on Saturday 14 March and will re-open on Sunday 12 April.

The Lounge Bar will close on Thursday 12 March and will re-open on Monday 13 April.

The Kitchen@Alcuin will be open 9am – 3pm from Monday 16 March to Friday 27 March. It will then close for the rest of the Easter vacation and re-open on Monday 13 April.
