INDORE PUBLIC SCHOOL RECEIVES THE FIT INDIA AWARD

Indore Public School is conferred with 'The Fit India School Award' by 'Fit India Movement'. The award is given to the school, among the deserving schools in Indore as we always aim at behavioural changes from sedentary lifestyle to physically active way of routine life. This movement is launched by The Honourable Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. We are eligible to use the Fit India 'LOGO & FLAG. The level of Fit India School Rating depended on how much importance the school gave for inculcating fitness among its students and teachers in addition to the facilities available for Fitness Activities.

POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION

The young poets of Primary Block enthralled the audience with their articulation and memory skills while reciting poems during the Poetry Recitation Competition, which was organised on January 10, 2020. The theme selected for each grade was based on the poems learnt in their English classes. The students were judged on the parameters like confidence, voice modulation, the props used and on the overall presentation.

STORY ROLE PLAY & DRAMATIZATION

Kindergarten students participated in a Story Role Play and Dramatization Activity on January 10, 2020. The young vibrant storytellers came forth with wonderful tales. While some stories provided food for thought, some reinforced moral values and some were humorous. The event was a blend of education and fun filled narration. The students performed spectacularly narrating their favourite stories using creative props, voice modulation and impressive expressions. The little story tellers won everyone's heart and were applauded by the audience. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students.

Workshop on 'Teaching English Language through Literature'

A Workshop on 'Teaching English Language through Literature' was organised at Marriott Hotel on January 11, 2020 by Macmillan Education. Three of our teachers Ms. Preeti Makhijani, Mr. Ramin Singh Hora and Ms. Ankita Salgia got the opportunity to attend the workshop to enhance their knowledge and skills. Resource person Ms. Shraddha Anand, encouraged the teachers to use a combination of life skills, figurative language and activity oriented approach to enrich the experience of learning English Language. The workshop was creditable and informative.

KITE FLYING FEST

A kite flying fest was organized to celebrate the upcoming festival of Makar Sankranti, at the school campus. It was indeed a splendid morning for the students on January 14, 2020 as the children got a chance to have fun by flying colourful kites in the sky. They turned the sky into vibrant colours with kites of different shapes and sizes fluttering all over. A feeling of joy and jubilation was clearly visible on children's faces as they watched colourful kites zooming high up in the sky.

A session on 'MIND your own BUSINESS' was conducted by Mr. Abdul Rauf at IPS Academy - College of Commerce on January16, 2020. In his presentation, he emphasised on the fact that God has given a certain amount of talent to everyone. However, the technology has entirely changed the world, hence every individual too needs to burnish his skills and be more productive.

Greeting Card Making Competition

A Greeting Card Making Competition was organised in the Primary Block on January 17, 2020. A blend of creativity and imagination was displayed by the students of classes I to V during the event. They decorated the cards with great enthusiasm and zeal using colours and cut-outs by dint of their creativity. The cards were judged on the basis of design, materials used, skill and presentation.

GRANDPARENTS DAY CELEBRATION

Montessori Wing celebrated Grandparents Day to express their love and affection for grandparents on January 18, 2020. It was celebrated with great enthusiasm to deepen the connection between grandparents and grandchildren. The campus was beautifully decorated. The event titled 'Grandparents Day' was a perfect amalgamation of kala and utsav. The event commenced with 'tilak' ceremony of grandparents. The young buds spell bounded all, with their effervescent songs, skit and dramatized story. An array of exciting games was also planned for the grandparents. The success of the event was evident from the happy and joyful smiles on the faces of the grandparents.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organised a Capacity Building Workshop for teachers on Happy Classroom on January 25, 2020 at Indore Public School - Eastern Campus. Ms. Meena Pratap, Ms. Harendra Solanki and Ms. Albeena Khan attended the workshop. The resource person was Ms. Anjana Kumar- Principal Rukmani Birla Modern High School, Jaipur. The core objective of the workshop was to augment subject knowledge, teaching skills and learn new teaching techniques. She also shared the most important mantra that a Happy Teacher Means a Happy Classroom.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

stThe students celebrated the 71 Republic Day with unprecedented patriotic fervour on January 26, 2020. The entire school courtyard was resplendent in the shades of tricolour. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the tricolour ag, followed by singing the National Anthem. Principal, Ms. Sudha Pandey administered the Oath ceremony for the N.C.C. cadets. An inspiring speech and a heart touching patriotic song by the School choir added to the patriotic gusto and lled patriotism in air. President Ar. Achal Choudhary extended his greetings on this occasion and urged everyone to pledge to uphold the honour, integrity, dignity and uniqueness of our nation. A vote of thanks was tabled by the Anchors in the end after which the students moved to savour the sweets distributed on this occasion. The cynosure of the day was the presence of Montessori wing who too celebrated the day in a novel manner.

As a part of the farewell, class XI arranged an Exhibition Match of football against class XII on January 26, 2020. The match was flagged off by the Principal – Ms. Sudha Pandey by greeting both the teams and striking toss. It was a nail biting game and the students played with high sportsmanship. Both the teams made utmost efforts to win the match by showing their football skills. Class XI won the match. This event was a great success and students enjoyed the game to the fullest!

BASANT PANCHMI CELEBRATION

The school campus turned yellow and wore a festive look on January 29, 2020 as the students and teachers came beautifully decked in radiant shades of yellow to celebrate Basant Panchmi with full vivacity and festivity. The day began with a special assembly in which the students melodiously sang the song and chanted shloks. Saraswati Poojan created a pious aura in the campus. It filled the ambience with jubilation. All enjoyed the day by being engulfed in religious fervour. The students relished the yellow coloured food served in the dining hall.

YOUNGEST POETESS AWARD

Oshin Alam, of Class XI (Science) was honoured with a prestigious award in a book fair sponsored and administered by Vishwa Sahitya Seva Academy at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Oshin is acclaimed with 'Kavya Gorav Samman' for being the 'Youngest Poetess' as three poems composed by her have been published in the book titled “Meri Bhi Kavita'.

It's really a matter of pride that Indore Public School has been awarded with the Noble Hub Award in Senior Bal Vigyan on January 18, 2020 at Prestige Public School. Around 200 students from 15 top notch schools of Indore participated in it. The theme of the Bal Vigyan was Community Development Project in which we the lead school along with the other 6 schools, who are part of our collaborative team, selected the theme Heritage conservation- Indore.

WORKSHOP ON EFFECTIVE TEACHING METHODOLOGY

A workshop based on 'Effective Teaching Methodology' was held at Vidyasagar School on January 13, 2020 which was attended by Mr. Manoj Kulsheshtra. It was organized by COE Bhopal under the aegis of Hubs of Learning in collaboration with Shri Aurobindo Society. The resource person was Mr. Yogesh Rathod. He effectively engaged the teachers in group activities and discussed common problems faced by teachers in managing classes.
