Abstrak

BACKGROUNDWhole Blood is a component that is often used in the delivery of patient transfusion. Hospital Blood Bank also received stock from UTD PMI in the form of a Whole Blood stored at 2-8o C and can be used until the expiration date runs out, which ranges for 35 days. Whole blood stored in BDRs can be directly used for transfusion and sometimes when it is needed first processed into components such as the PRC. To ensure the efficacy and effectiveness of transfusion then be seen whether the shelf life of certain there is a change of the components contained in Whole Blood Hemoglobin and hematocrit values especially.OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDYTo see the changes in hemoglobin and hematocrit values in Whole Blood shelf life of day-2 and day-7. Taken determining the shelf life of the 2nd day is the average for Whole Blood received BDRs of UTD PMI and the -7 day is the average of the shelf life Whole Blood before transfuses to patientMETHODSThis study uses a cross-sectional design conducted in UTD M. Ashari Hospital in Pemalang. The study was conducted in January-July 2015 with each month drawn 4 Whole Blood samples for hemoglobin and hematoktrit examination done at the start are stored in BDRs, and re-examination on the 7th day of storage. The results were analyzed manually and the data were analyzed using Skewers SPSS version 17.

RESULTShemoglobin and hematocrit on the shelf life of the- 2nd and 7th of each month are taken from four samples Whole blood during January-July 2015 obtained normally distributed with normality value of 0.044
