Pluralism in christianBy: Abdul fatah(074211015) When I had dialogue with the one of out standing priest in my town Purwodadi I could understand well that not only Islam which wanted to create the peace among religious member community but also Christians did. The teaching spirit of christian to interact with society is to face them friendly and kindly, there for it really supports and agrees with pluralism concept as the way to create peace life among religious members community either Islam, Budha, konghuchu or even others type of religions. The priest Kornelious Supomo the man whom I invited to have dialogue said that in bible explained Christian is obligated to have affection to whole kinds of human beings because basically human is same he added in bible written Love! all human beings like you love with your self. So the priest explained that Christian never teaches to hate with people out of it. The main substance of Christian teaching is affection the meaning of affection here is not only to love with Christian people but also to all kinds of people. The faith may be difference but we must respect each other because we live in this world never free from interaction with assorted people, even the priest is not shy any more to join selametan (ceremonial of thanks giving of Muslim usually by reading tahlil, yasin etc) in his neighbor because most of people in that village is Muslim. this is one of example the pluralism value which is had been applied by priest Supomo in his area which is full of Muslim, so that despite of many differences found mainly in faith case it doesnt break the peace and harmony among the society when they realize to respect and honor the difference among them. Absolutely when society had such kind of awareness no any more religion conflict happened in Indonesia. He also admit Gusdur as the father of pluralism even he said that no any more1

person found in this beloved country like Gusdur who could reconcile among religions, because of Gusdurs service the safety of religion is able to be guaranteed it could be seen his policy when became president toward minority group like khonhuchu or Chinese ethnic. The Christian moderate According to the priest not all sect of Christian would receive the pluralism concept only the moderate one who wants to receive it like Pantikosta which he is following now. In Indonesia there are several Christian organization such as PGI, KWI, PGPI and etc. and in every organization had different way and method like PGPI(pantikosta) in structural organization had three councils they are; center council, territory council and region council. In religion case like admission sin between pantikosta and Katolik both are different in pantikostas view admission sin is directly to god but for Katolik admission sin could be from priest as the mediator of god. And in Baptist (pembaptisan) in katolik its by staining water but in pantikosta by immersion in water. So it could be understood that every sect in Christian had different point of view to understand the religion and this is not only for Christian but almost all religions do such. About sin in perspective of Christian never know small and big sin every sin is sin nothing the term of small and big sin. So every mistake done by the Christian community when it breaks the regulation of its teaching its considered as sin either its big or small mistake, sin is sin. The deviate sects in Christian The fact in Christian is also found many deviate sects which is considered is not in line with the spirit teaching of bible. According to the priest there are five sects which is forbidden in Indonesia they are 1. Christian science 2. Saksi yahovah 3. Mormonisme

4. Theologia modern 5. Children of god Those sects are considered didnt bring the spirit of Jesuss teaching and will be danger for Christian it self, like the sect children of god is sect which sets free its follower to have free sex as they want even according to its doctrine by having sex will come to the spiritual totality surrender toward Allah. So its not strange when the early arrival of this sect in very short period many Christians are interesting to follow and join. looking at the phenomenon the priest supomo tried hard not to free his follower to have such morality moreover by joining such sect. he emphasizes that the spirit of bible is spirit of love, morality, and peace. So everything which is not like those spirits its not pure from Christian teaching.
