9.30 a.m.: arrive in Pézenas, park at the buspark, then on foot up to the tourist office / Scénovision.

Group 1 (19 persons)9.45 a.m.: Scénovision Molière, Molière's life in 5 acts. Show on the move of 55mn,change rooms and settings after each act, corresponding to a period of Molière's life. A quickand unusual way to discover the child, the comedian and the playwright. 10.40 a.m.: end of Scenovision for group 1. Visit on your own of the interpretation centre ofarchitecture and heritage and hôtel de Peyrat, where the Scenovision is located. This privatemansion partly from the 17th century was totally restored in 2008; it comprises a medievaltower dating to the 14th century that was used as a jail in the 18th century; stateroom withpainted beamed ceiling and 17th-century painted wooden fireplace; room exhibiting modelsof theatres from the Antiquity to modern times. Or visit on your own of Pézenas localmuseum until 11 a.m. The museum is free if combined with the Scenovision (otherwiseentrance fee of € 1 per person).

Craftsmen's workshops

Craftsmen and designers work all year long in theirworkshops located in the historical town centre ofPézenas. From pottery, wrought-ironwork, gilding, todecorative objects, they have wide-ranging skills andtalents. These artisans designers also make the smallstreets of Pézenas livelier. 40 craftsmen's workshops inthe historic quarter in the close vicinity.

Antique dealers & bric-a-brac traders

Circa 50 antique dealers and bric-a-brac traders are locatedalong Verdun avenue in Pézenas. The visitors meetingthese merchants will make a journey through the centuriesdiscovering objects created during many different periods:clocks, chandeliers, bronzes, paintings, mirrors... So let's gobargain hunting. Easy access on foot through Conti street.

Saint Jean's collegiate church

St Jean's collegiate church has been a listed building since1935. It was built in the 14th century, then rebuilt in 1739.This huge building, composed of a three-storey bell tower,encompasses a large blue and golden organ built in 1758 andmany other treasures and pieces of art, exhibited in thesacristy and the chapter house.

The House of Arts and Crafts

The House of Arts and Crafts, situated in the former Consul House, is an exhibition galleryand a shop where unique pieces and limited series created by artisans designers aredisplayed. Decorative objects, jewels, sculptures, visitors will be charmed by the inspirationand skilfulness of these designers artisans. Opening times: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Opening days: daily, closed on Monday and Sunday.

The soap factory of Pézenas

Pézenas soap factory is located opposite the touristoffice. During the unguided visit, it is possible todiscover this artisan factory as well as all theproduction processes for hand-crafted natural soapsmade with organic shea butter or the vegetablecandles, fragrances... Open daily: from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday: from 2 to 6 p.m. Closed on Monday.

The Doors museumThe doors museum is an unusual place. Itscollection of doors from the 16th to the 20thcentury reveals all the skills of the craftsmeninvolved in wood work. Each door has its ownhistory and has its own technical features:decoration, doorknocker, or sculptures, thatmake it truly unique.Opening times and days: closed in January & FebruaryNovember & December: open Tuesdaythrough Saturday from 2 to 5.15 p.m.

Vulliod Saint-Germain's museumThe Vulliod Saint-Germain's museum is situated in a16th-century private mansion. It gathers differentcollections of furniture and pieces of art from the 17th,18th and 19th century; worth of note are the collectionsof earthenware and tapestries. The museum also evokesthe memory of Molière with a room dedicated to theartist and the famous wooden armchair on which he usedto sit when he was in his friend Gély's barber shop. Valmagne Abbey

Valmagne abbey was founded in 1138 and is one of themost beautiful Cistercian abbeys in France. The visit willunfold a magnificent well-kept fountain, a Gothic church,the cloister, the conservatory of vines, the gardens… Thisremarkable architectural ensemble also offers a restaurantwith menus based on local products, with vegetables fromthe organic garden of the abbey and of course winetastings with the wines produced on the premises.

Cassan Abbey

Cassan abbey is a former royal priory founded in 1080.It has been a listed building since 1998. Nicknamed« the small Versailles of Languedoc », it reveals asomptuous setting: a vast Romanesque XII Centurychurch and the XVIII Century abbot's palace.

Saint Nazaire's cathedral in Béziers

The Gothic Saint Nazaire's cathedral has been a listedbuilding since 1840. It is one of the historical hotspotsof the town of Béziers. The inside has a surprisingGreek cross shape. The garden offers magnificentviews, among else, over the town and the Orb riverplain.

The Ephebe's museum in Agde

The Ephebe's museum, located in Agde, displays the wealth of Agdearchitectural heritage. Exceptional collections are being exhibited, aboveall the most important French collection of antique bronzes and thefamous statue of the Ephebe d'Agde. The museum also displayssubaquatic archeological findings, such as weapons and cannons fromroyal ships and wrecks dating back from the XIIth to XIXth century.

Saint Adrian's garden

Elected the favourite garden of the French in 2013,Saint Adrian's garden is a splendid sight tocontemplate. Situated on former medieval stonequarries today transformed into a sumptuous greensetting, the garden covers 4 hectares on several levels.

Vinipolis

This wine tourist complex is an original and funny wayto discover the wines of Florensac wine growers. Thevisitor walks at leisure in the shop surrounded byinteractive terminals dedicated to the presentation andexplanation of the wines produced in Florensac. It isthus possible to taste a wine and to watch its detailedpresentation at the same time. Vinipolis has arestaurant too that uses local wines and products: it iscalled le Bistrot d'Alex.

Noilly Prat

Noilly Prat is a worldwide known vermouth. Created in 1850, the way it is processed isunique in the world and its recipe is kept secret. The guided tour of this site enables one todiscover the wine cellar and the thousands barrels laid in the open air throughout the year.The visit goes on then with the room of secrets, where the wines are conveyed after havingslowly aged in the barrels. It is the place where the mysterious mixing process is carried out,that will give the vermouth its unique and exceptional flavour.

River cruise:

Canal du Midi

The Canal du Midi, linking the Garonne river to theMediterranean, was imagined by Pierre Paul Riquet at theend ot the XVII century to improve the transportation ofgoods by using waterways. The visitors can nowadays take acruise on the Canal with their family or with friends aboard abarge or a houseboat, or simply walk along the banks on footor on a bicycle. The Fontseranes 9 locks are among the most visited technicalworks on the Canal du Midi. They make it possible for boatsto « climb » a slope in several stages corresponding to eachlock. Other locks, the technical achievement of which is alsoworth of note, are well worth exploring, such as Portiragneslock or the famous round lock in Agde.
