1 DECEMBER NEWS MOLESCROFT PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 20th November 2019 Volume 19 Issue 4 Putting the sparkle into our children’s Christmas Dear Parents, Carers, Governors, Friends, Staff and Pupils This newsletter is posted on the website: www.molescroftpri mary.net From the website it is possible to click on the SCHOOL BLOG which is an online photographic diary of life at the school. All the children and staff are getting ready for four special Christmas events to which you are invited. Christmas at primary age is a magical time and we look forward to sharing the wonder with you and your children. The Foundation Year is joining forces with Year 1 to present their own Christmas Family Assembly “A Miracle in Town” which will be performed on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th December 2019 at 9:15 am. Year 2 and Y3 meanwhile are to present Disney’s stage production of The Lion King Junior on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th December 2019 both at 9:15 am. These times have been chosen to hopefully help parents with the potential for flexible working to attend, rather than it being in the middle of the working day. I understand that for some of you there is disappointment that we do not admit any pre-school children to the performances. Unfortunately I have seen so many events distracted by little children crying, or even running about that I made the decision a long time ago not to invite our pre-school children. I apologise for the disappointment but I believe the priority must be for the children who are performing. It is equally annoying for parents if their child’s line is lost under the background noise. Nevertheless I can offer a compromise. The assemblies are to be performed to the school as a Dress Rehearsal. If Parents/Carers wish to bring along a pre-school child or indeed would find it difficult to attend otherwise, they can attend either dress rehearsal. Please inform the office in advance if you would like to attend a Dress Rehearsal as the limited places must also be booked. The FY/Y1 dress rehearsal is on Tuesday 17th December 2019 at 9:15 am. and the Y2/Y3 Dress Rehearsal is on Monday 9th December at 10:30 am. In order to secure tickets for our public performances please complete the booking form at the end of this newsletter; which was also sent home in hard copy; and return it to school by Friday 29th November 2019. Please note forms will be dated as they are received in the office and tickets issued in that order. Once the hall is full it is impossible to allocate any more tickets. There are a maximum of 2 seats available per family (at the moment). If after the initial booking period there are spare tickets these will be released via a second round form issued on the following week on the same basis as above up to a maximum of 1 more ticket per family. If you doubt that your child will get the form to the office please post it to school. continued overleaf ...

R Christmas continued... Making sure you don’t miss out. Meanwhile the Y4 to Y6 Christmas Celebration will be held in Beverley Minster on Monday 16th December 2019 at 7pm. We are calling the event a Festival of Christmas and I am sure it will be a wonderful occasion. All children from Y4 to Y6 will be performing, PLUS Y3 CHILDREN WHO ARE CHOIR MEMBERS. I am delighted to announce that this year we are again being joined by KS2 children from Woodmansey CE Primary School. This is recognising the collaboration partnership we have with the school. The event is to be spread throughout the central nave so all can get a good view. Like last year we shall use the full length of the nave to the back of the Minster with special lighting installed throughout the length, avoiding the rather blinding spot light. There will be something for everyone, wherever you are sat. All are welcome and there are no tickets to book for this event. As indicated, the choir will be performing as well. Every Y4 to Y6 child will also be playing their Recorder and we are looking forward to performances from the Woodmansey CE Primary School Ukelele Band and Choir. The main feature of the evening is to be a Christmas Musical “Hosannah

Rock” performed by all the children in Y4 to Y6. I am grateful again to the Minster staff for facilitating the event, which will be in itself an act of some faith as we shall not be rehearsing in the Minster before the event. The doors will open at 6:30 pm. This date was advertised in the November Newsletter and clearly we hope that every Y4 to Y6 child plus choir will participate. If for any reason this is not possible, please write a short note or e-mail as soon as possible. This is to ensure anyone not performing is not rehearsed in a crucial role or pivotal position.

Again following beautiful concerts in previous years, the Orchestra plus featured soloists are to have their own special Festival of Christmas Music in school on Friday 13th December 2019. This will commence at 2:15 pm. and is a ticket only event. This event is not open to pre-school children. In addition The Friends will be serving festive refreshments from 1:45 p.m.

Tickets must be booked using the Christmas Booking Form. Deadline: Friday 29th November 2019.

“I hope our mix of Christmas events will launch the Christmas spirit”

The Friends’ Association will be serving refreshments in the hall from 8:45 am on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th, Wednesday 18th & Thursday 19th December 2019 and from 1:45pm on Friday 13th December 2019 to guests attending the assemblies.

R CHRISTMAS DATES FOR THE SCHOOL CHOIR It’s the choir’s busiest season.

Every Wednesday lunchtime the school is treated to the Sound of Music as the members of the school choir meet up to practise with Mrs. Walker, Mr. Britton and Mrs. Cameron The choir adds greatly to the life of the school and often sings for us at special events. In advance may I pass on my thanks to the children for their work, sharing their talents and giving of their time. Also thanks to their parent/carers for ensuring the children can meet their out of school time bookings!

Sunday1st December 2019 at 12:30 and 1:30pm FOMS Christmas Fayre

Monday 16th December 2019 at 7:00 pm. Festival of Christmas at Beverley Minster. THIS INCLUDES Y3 CHOIR MEMBERS

Thursday 19th December 2019 Beverley Grange Residential Home Friday 20th December at 9:30 am Final Assembly of 2019. In addition the choir will perform at Tescos for an hour to raise money for charity. This is not a performance and we must request

no audience, as a few years ago our “fans” blocked the access route through the store. Y3 are similarly to sing for an hour.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MOLES ON STAGE You may be sitting in a Theatre and think … I recognise that performer. We have talented and enthusiastic children popping up on stage all over the county this Christmas. This includes after appearing as Munchkins in Beverley Musical Theatre's production of the Wizard of Oz in the summer, Beth D and her friend Betsy A (both year 3). They were invited back to be dwarves in their Christmas pantomime production of Snow White at Beverley Memorial Hall at the end of November/early December. They will be playing Dozy (Betsy) and Bumbly (Beth). Meanwhile Ava F and Daisy A are performing at the Hull New Theatre in Aladdin, while Poppy RF and Florence K are in Sleeping Beauty at the Parkway in Beverley. “Break a Leg” to all our performing moles! I’m sure there are a few more I haven’t mentioned.

COME DRESSED AS YOU LIKE DAY The last event of the Charity Campaign Our final day is a non-uniform day but children may also choose to be more creative and come in fancy dress. The same applies to staff! The fine for this is £1 which is the final part of the Charity Fund Raising Effort. At our final assembly for 2019 we will announce how much the children’s charity appeal has raised and also the charities that they have chosen to support. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the school and the pupils, and particularly for your support of the children’s Charity Fund Raising Events. The aim is, as you know to encourage the children to think of those less fortunate than themselves and to make some small sacrifice in the terms of time, effort and pocket money. It is not designed as a major assault on parental purses and wallets!

NOW LIGHT 2000 CHRISTMAS LIGHTS A special bit of magic for our children. Continuing our tradition there will be a special assembly to welcome the decoration of the Christmas tree and the start of the school’s festive preparations. This will be held on Friday 29th November at 10:00 am. Unfortunately not everyone can attend, however Governors,

Staff, Friends Association Committee Members and Volunteer Helpers are most welcome. The assembly will conclude with the lighting of both our indoor and outdoor trees. The outdoor tree is illuminated by 3000 lights provided by the Parish Centre Committee. Please note: Guests attending MUST BE ON SITE BEFORE 9:45am

The famous Christmas Tree Assembly, it’s a gift to the children.

ELECTION IMPACT

REMINDER OF ELECTION IMPACT ON CHRISTMAS EVENT and request for help

Having announced all the dates for Christmas in recent Newsletters, we now face a General Election on Thursday 12th December 2019.

Most of you will be aware that Molescroft Primary School is a Polling Station.

As a result the arrangements for the Y2/Y3 Christmas Show, The Lion King are having to be rearranged. The performances for parents will now be on Tuesday 10th December at 9:15am and on Wednesday 11th December at 9:15am.

Meanwhile, many of our pupils will be anticipating the launch of our Christmas Season with the Christmas Tree Assembly on Friday 29th November 2019 at 10 am.

I know many older “Moles” have fond memories of the magic of this annual event.

In order for this year’s story to come to life, I need a few volunteers. So if you have an Old Mole at home who is free on the morning of Friday 29th November, please can you contact the school office.

Any volunteers will need to wear a black full sleeved top and be available for a rehearsal on Wednesday 27th November at 7pm for an hour.

CRACKERJACK! It’s 5 to 5, it’s Friday and it’s … Ok that was the slogan in the 1960s when I watched it!

If you were watching “Children in Need” last week, you may have spotted that the classic BBC Children’s programme Crackerjack is making a return to our screens in the New Year. Finn B has been selected to take part on the programme to be hosted by Sam and Mark.He had to have an interview with the BBC and then found out just before half term that he had been picked.  Finn went over to Manchester for the filming and he did really well.  He came across confident and enjoyed the whole experience.  He got to spend the afternoon in the green room with the guests. The series starts in January for 10 weeks but we don’t know when his actual show will be aired.Hopefully we will be able to show it in an assembly via the iPlayer.

OPERATION LIFESTYLE Congratulations to the Molescroft Musketeers.

Joe D,Louis H, Daniel R, Jasmine L and Henry S (all year 6) took part in Humberside Police's Lifestyle project over the summer holidays. They called their team the "Molescroft

Musketeers". Their project was to raise money to buy swivel seats for the Beverley Community Lift after hearing that some passengers were using plastic bags to help them get in and out of the cars and minibuses provided by the charity. They were one of 88 teams (out of 591) to be invited to a Lifestyle awards ceremony at the Bonus Arena in Hull last night and were awarded tickets to “Go Ape” for their efforts.

We will have to wait until January to see how Finn

did in Crackerjack.

SNOW POLICY: IMPORTANT The following is taken from the school’s Safeguarding Policy and should prepare parents/carers for what to expect when it snows. The school will only close without prior notice as a last resort. The Head Teacher or his representative will remain on site until the last child is collected.

Policy in Practice What the school does to assist in the event of icy weather conditions. It is not practical to grit the entire site, but as part of the gritting policy, safe routes round the site and across the South Playground have been identified and will be gritted before giving access to the site, thereby minimising the risks to children parents and visitors. The car park will also be gritted.

Children are not allowed to make slides on the playgrounds. Playgrounds are gritted if practical before 8:30am and when not, by morning break. At playtimes a decision as to whether children are to be allowed outside will be made by the senior teacher on duty in conjunction with a member of the Senior Management Team.

Children may not throw snowballs on the playgrounds. However if the field is covered by thick snow pupils may be allowed to play on the field in the snow, make snowman and throw snowballs. Those not wishing to throw snow (or indeed be hit by snowballs) should stay on the playgrounds. The school believes that playing in and throwing snow is part of a child’s life experiences.

In extreme cases the Headteacher may decide that there is no option but to close the school if there is presented a severe health and safety risk. This done, the Chair of

Governors will be informed and parents via text message. A severe Health and Safety Risk would be presented if insufficient staff could reach the school or indeed the health and safety of staff meant that they should leave early. Due to the location of the school it is expected that the school will be able to remain open. Closing a school at short notice including closing mid way through a day poses considerable difficulties for parents and will only be taken as a very last resort.

A complete heating failure in the winter and/or a loss of the water supply would however result in the school having to close.

Good communication is essential. Parents receive a copy of specific instructions during the autumn and winter months via the monthly newsletters and the website. Children have the processes explained to them in the classroom. It is expected that parents adhere to these instructions and pass all relevant information to friends and relatives who may also come to school to bring and fetch children. Parents/Carers are asked to be responsible and plan more time for their journey, suitable footwear for having to walk further, wrapping up to keep warm etc....Parents should not expect to be able to park close to the school at these times! Parents and visitors are expected to use the gritted paths rather than walk across the snow and ice.

Snow Policy and Procedures - information for teaching and support staff In the event of disruption caused by heavy snow the prime concern of the school must always be the safety of the pupils and staff.

It is expected that all staff will make every reasonable effort to undertake the journey to school. It is appreciated that the journey may take longer than normal and therefore some staff may not be able to arrive before the normal start of school time.

In the event of severe weather, a decision to close the school for pupils will be made by 7am. The Head Teacher will make arrangements for PARENTS TO BE INFORMED BY TEXT IF THE SCHOOL IS TO CLOSE.

Updates will be posted on the Twitter section of the school’s website. www.molescroftprimary.net

In the event of the normal timetable being suspended, a programme of activities will be organised for pupils who arrive at school. Teachers and Teaching Assistants will be delegated to supervise these activities.

Rather than a full closure it is more likely that the school will remain open on a reduced capacity. In such an event, parents/carers will be asked if it is possible to make alternative arrangements for pupils. Where this is not possible the school will remain open for those who need to come to school or for those who cannot go home in the case of an unexpected early closure. As the number pupils remaining decreases, they will be moved to other classes or the hall.

The school will only close without prior notice as a last resort. The Head Teacher or his representative will remain on site until the last child is collected.

R Countdown to the Friends’ Christmas Fair Donations welcome anytime On Sunday 1st December 2019 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m. the ‘Friends’ are hosting the annual Christmas Fair. This is, as most of you know, the biggest fundraising event of the Friends’ year and, once again are asking for your help to make it another resounding success. There will be lots of old favourites including Santa’s grotto, tombola, chocolate tombola, jam jar tombola, teddy stall many games and prizes, raffle, refreshments and craft stalls.

The ‘Friends’ will be extremely grateful for items for any of the tombola stalls — unwanted gifts, new books and toys, chocolate and soft toys. Filled jam jars (filled with anything you like) for the jam jar tombola are now a firm favourite. Please note sweets in jars must be wrapped. We regret we are unable to accept second hand books, jigsaws, DVDs, CD’s and toys (other than cuddly toys for the teddy tombola).

We will, as ever be grateful if anyone can spare an hour or so on the day to help out on a stall, set up or clear away. Please let the office know if you have any availability.

The Friends Association have also asked if the Choir will be willing to provide some festive music at 12.30pm and 1:30pm. Last year nearly £3000 was raised at this event. The Friends work tirelessly for the school and all our pupils benefit so much from their work.

The ‘Friends’ have purchased so much for our school including 114 iPads, the fully fitted kitchen, Tony Knight Centre, Conference Curtains in the Hall, new carpet for the FY, Guided Reading Books, Theatre Lighting & the new Maths Mastery materials. Currently they are saving up to install 65” LED screens in every classroom and bespoke goals/basketball targets on the MUGA. The difference the Friends Association makes to the learning, happiness and wellbeing of your children is immense. Please note that the

Fayre opens at 11:00am ... just in time for lunch and we are catering just for you! This is the ‘Friends’ biggest event of the year. They need your support.

Please don’t forget to return the Sold and unsold Raffle Tickets to school by Friday 29th November 2019

Witness the winners of the Voice /X Factor and our other talented Moles in our charity winners’ show.

KEVIN’S DIARY It’s a school dog’s Life

Christmas is my favourite time of year and I am excited for the Christmas festivities. I really enjoyed last year’s Christmas celebrations at Molescroft so am very excited to see what the school will look like this year and listening to all your rehearsals for the Nativity, Lion King and the Minster. I also look forward to hearing from Mrs. Jameson about the Christmas Tree Assembly.

I am really enjoying the training time with the Year 6 children. I look forward to my visits every morning break. I have now started working towards my Kennel Club Silver Award so hopefully my training will go well and it won’t be too long before I can sit my test and get my next rosette.Mrs. Jameson has said that she might get me a Christmas outfit  for the last day of term so that I can join in with you all.

Kevin to join in the Christmas Festivities.

L LOVE IN A SHOEBOX This is one of the most moving and engaging events in the school year. A simple idea which sends so much love round the world.

In October we invited families to be involved in the sending of Christmas Shoeboxes containing gifts. The boxes are airlifted to children in Eastern Europe and Africa who would otherwise receive no present this year. These presents are prepared in a shoebox. Full details were

included in a leaflet distributed after half term, but also published below. It gives details of what can and cannot be sent. We are organising this collection to coincide with our Citizenship Fortnight. The shoeboxes are to be collected from school on Friday 22nd November 2019 in a special assembly. Last year again more shoeboxes were sent from Molescroft School, than there are pupils. It was a truly remarkable sight. Extra leaflets are available from the school office.

As we did last year we are joining forces with Jacob’s Well.

The Jacob’s Well Appeal is an aid charity, based in Beverley.

Since 1984 Jacob’s Well Appeal has been working in over 30 countries, including Afghanistan, Romania, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Philippines and Kenya.  From their offices and large warehouse in Beverley they continue to change the world one life at a time by supplying medical aid, agricultural equipment and projects,

educational supplies and projects, tools and building supplies, emergency disaster relief, small business start-up schemes, sponsoring children in the developing world andvolunteers willing to go abroad and make a difference.

A BOX OF LOVEAs announced in October, featured in the November Newsletter and on posters around the site, the big day for presentation of our boxes is this Friday 22nd November.

Our boxes are to be sent to children in Burkina Faso.

CHARITY DISCO Get down and boogie for a good cause. This year’s Charity Fund Raising Disco is to be held on Tuesday 3rd December from 3:15pm to 4:30pm. It is for FY to Y3 Children. A booking form has been sent home to order tickets and is reprinted in this newsletter.

Entry is £4 which includes a full refreshments package including Hot Dog, Bun, Crisps and unlimited juice.

Following the huge successes of recent Friends’ Disco, the same DJ has been booked with his professional kit, entertaining style and great prizes.

Children attending the disco will not require any additional money at the event.

The children organising the event will be supervising the food and juice and points and helping the younger children to have a great time. All the money raised will go to this year’s charity appeal.

Children may bring party clothes to change into for the Disco, Cinema Night and the Christmas parties in December.

R A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM Looking forward to our first ever POP UP MUSEUM We are going to create our own “pop up museum” for one night only on Monday 2nd December 2019.

I am extremely grateful, once again for the way in which families engaged in the October Half Term holiday project to find or create a historical artefact.

These objects have been displayed in classrooms and will be a focus for classroom discussion. On Monday 2nd December from 3:40pm to 6pm, the school will be transformed into a museum. Access will be via the Y2 entrance from the South Playground, not the front door, as this will be the exit.

All the artefacts will have been distributed by the children according to time frame.

Therefore the tour of the museum will begin in early history in some of the classrooms before reaching modern history in the hall.

Starting at 3:40pm means most people should have the opportunity to visit, but it will be far more atmospheric if families return when it is a bit darker. The classrooms will be in the dark with the objects identified by little LED lights, so that visitors can pin prick the objects with torch light.

There will be a strict one way system, with short cuts to the exit after the Y3 Rooms and Year 4 rooms. Those wishing to travel back in time, can enter the hall through the fire exit, then tour the school but by using the outside routes. The Afternoon Tea Club will remain operating as normal but fully in the Foundation Year, parents collecting will need to go to the Foundation Year Entrance to collect. The visitors will create a human timeline spanning history. The Book Café will not run on this night.

So please put the date in your diary and get a torch each ready for a night in the museum, the History of the World in 420 Artefacts.

As indicated artefacts can still be brought in.

It would help if those who haven’t brought their entry yet, could do so by Monday 25th November 2019, this is so we can arrange the time zones for the event. If any child has lost the label, we have a few spares at school.

We will be doing outdoor PE throughout the winter.

PE IN THE WINTER Keeping warm in outdoor PE for Y1 to Y6 Parents may recall that I announced because of the MUGA we can now ensure PE sessions can occur inside and outside throughout the year.

This means that children will need in addition to their black PE kit clothes to keep them warm.

Some have their Molescroft Hoodie, but there is no expectation on this. Some children have already been a

bit chilly in outdoor PE as they didn’t have anything warm to wear.

Warm jogging bottoms and tops are probably the most useful. Also it is vital that children have a pair of trainers to wear which must not be the pair that they may be wearing in school.

Key days for the Outdoor Kit are Y1/Y2 MondayY3/Y4 WednesdayY5/Y6 ThursdayIn addition,Y5 may also do their fitness session outside on Tuesday.

CROSS COUNTRY FINALS

Ben T, albeit feeling a little nervous ran really well at the Cross Country Finals in Cottingham. He was the lone mole to qualify for the race, but clearly is growing

talent in the discipline. He came 10th overall in his race which we believe had about 70 runners. It was a tightly fought race with some good competition. Support of parents in getting children to the event was much appreciated. Sadly the girls team had to withdraw due to illness. There will be plenty more opportunities I am sure.

FOOTBALL FINALS at S. HUNSLEY

Similarly we are grateful to parents who were able to support the footballers who had similarly reached the County Finals. You may recall that the event was scheduled on Consultation Evening. We managed to enable Mrs. Ripley to attend and she reported that the team played extremely well. After a successful district tournament, the Molescroft Year 6 football squad took part in the regional finals at South Hunsley against the best school teams from across the county. They performed heroically and after a tight 0-0 draw in the opening game, followed by a well deserved 1-0 victory in the second (courtesy of a Jessica M’s bullet header) Molescroft finally

succumbed to the eventual winners, Swanland Primary, and lost  3-0. They were unlucky to be pitted against this experienced team in the group stages. The school can be very proud of what they have achieved, not just this year, but since Year 3 they have all improved and represented the school admirably. It has been a pleasure to work with them. Special mention goes firstly,  to Mrs Ripley for stepping in to manage the team. Next to Max B, whom, in the absence of ill Luke H, had a spectacular game in defence and finally, a big thank you to the parents whom not only supported the children but provided transport to and from the game. Well done all.

DOUBLE MARATHON

In the November Newsletter I thanked Dad Paul Roberts for running in the Bridlington Marathon instead of the Hull Marathon for the FOMS. Actually he ran in BOTH Marathons. Even more respect Paul! Thank you.

FAMILY MARTIAL ARTS

On Sunday, 6th October, after over 3 years of training, Anika and Alex M had their boundaries tested and proved extremely capable of overcoming their weaknesses whilst taking the black belt test in the Family Martial Arts. The test lasted over 3 hours and they had to prove their stamina, technique, discipline and teamwork. The test was really exhausting and the kids did amazingly well. The children train together with mum. Well done to you all.

The range of sports in which our pupils are engaged in is extremely impressive.

Tuesday 12th November 2019

Longcroft school were the hosts f o r t h e b a d m i n t o n festival for Year groups 3, 4, 5 a n d 6 . Molescroft took two badminton teams in which they represented the school to the highest order. T h e c h i l d r e n were split into two

teams: The Yellow Team and The Green Team. The children were numbered from 1-4 and had to play against the corresponding number from their opponents. The Green Team, comprising of Charlotte, Jasmine, Ashley, Kyron and Oliver started their first game against St Marys. The Green Team put on an excellent performance, with Oliver hitting some fantastic smash shots, making his opponent have to scramble frantically around the court. Ashley was equally as impressive, dropping the shuttle cock short, just over the net, much to the frustration of St Marys. The Molescroft Green Team came out victorious, with an ecstatic Mr Morton watching on from the side-line.

The Yellow Team, comprising of Henry, Spencer, Amy and Lily were only a four-person team, missing one player to make up the whole five. However, this did not matter as the team made up for this with lots of enthusiasm, laughter and determination throughout the tournament and they showed a desire to try their best in each and every game. The Molescroft Yellow Team had a tough first opponent in the form of St Johns who proved to be too strong and withstood some fantastic drop shots from Henry. Lily showed off her excellent clearance shots, hitting the shuttle cock with such power and accuracy over the net. Henry controlled the court and move around it gracefully, making it difficult for St Mary’s to cope with. With the

score 14-7 to St Mary’s, up stepped Spencer who had a determined attitude and turned the game on its head, with Molescroft coming out on top 16-14.

Moving into the 3rd game, the Molescroft Green Team came up against a strong St Johns’ team. Charlotte commanded the court, demonstrating some excellent serves and demonstrating to everyone what a sporting role model she is to other children. The next game involved a derby match between the two Molescroft teams. Mr Morton led the Green Team against Mr Trowsdale’s yellow team. The match was excellent with both teams cheering on each other, showing fantastic sportsmanship and playing it in good humour. The Green Team came out on top but both teams thoroughly enjoyed playing their friends and this was fantastic to see. Amy always made sure that each team shook hands and other teachers from other schools commented on her impressive attitude to sport.

Moving in the final game, The Molescroft Yellow Team had finished all of their games and therefore sat on the side-line to cheer on the Green Team. Lockington was the final opponent for the Green Team and it was a hard fought battle. Kyron was on top form, hitting some fantastic drop shots and moving around the court at speed to keep returning the shuttle cock over the net. Molescroft just fell short and Lockington came out victorious.

Well done to all our players, we are very proud of you

Understanding across the generations

TOMORROW’S YOUTH Into the third year of this growing relationship When in the Foundation Year some of our pupils went along to the Molescroft Pavillion to meet up with some of the local senior citizens. It proved so successful, the same children returned and went back again twice in Year 1.

Now in Year 2 they returned again to continue their

bond.

It is a lovely project and much appreciated by the residents who love seeing how the children are growing up.

Parents may have noticed that there was no Longcroft Showcase this year. Our dancers have still been enjoying their lunchtime classes with Miss

Cording. They would like to present to their parents what they have been working on at 3:15pm on Friday 6th December 2019.

They will also perform it to the school earlier in the day.
