Christmas Celebration WORSHIPDecember 7; 10:00am in the Sanctuary
Our Worship Service on December 7th will be a joyous cele-bration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Pleasejoin us as we honor Jesus during the Advent season with Scrip-ture, prayers, Advent Candle lighting, music, and presentationsby children, youth and adults. The children are preparing themusical Gimme, Gimme..JESUS! as part of the Christmas Celebration Service. Their presentation re-minds us to challenge the worlds theme of spending and getting and instead focus on giving to others.

Church FamilyThank you....
Central Presbyterian and Mission Outreach
A very special thank you to Brenda Geiman and
Mary Norcross for coming in to the church after the
Pork & Sauerkraut Dinner fundraiser to scrub, wash and scour the kitchen. It was a good thing
they were there since the borough just happened tobe inspecting all the areas church kitchens thatday. These two ladies worked tirelessly all day to
get things clean and organized. God bless you both!
Three Cheers for Central Knitters!
A dozen sweaters, sent to Knit For Kids World
Vision, will keep 12 children warm, toasty and hap-py throughout the winter. Many thanks to all you
knitters for your support. The easy instructions and
colorful yarn are on the table in the hallway (firstfloor) for anyone interested in this worthwhile mis-sion. Help is also available if needed.
From Ingrid Herbert
Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers I re-
ceived after the Pork & Sauerkraut Dinnertheywere very undeserved, but very much appreciated.

JOY VILLAGE NEWSAs Christmas approaches, you may be thinking of acharitable donation. Recently, a church in New Jerseysent each resident of Joy Village a placemat with thechilds name and photo on it. The kids were thrilled, and the Tree of Lives newsletter showed a few of themholding up their placemats decorated with multi-colored handprints, presumably of the child in the U.S.who had decorated it.There are other ways to add to the support CPC issending to Kenya. One way is to give a 167 Clubmembership as a Christmas gift. You may rememberthat $167 a month will provide housing, food, school, clothing and medication for one Joy Village child. Visitthe website www.treeoflives.orgto find out details.(Have members of your family been talking about howgifts should be cut back this year? This is a perfectway to honor your loved ones, and not have to shop!)The website will also tell you about the 2015 Pilgrim-age to Kenya, either June 27 to July 11, or Oct. 24 toNov. 7. Go and see for yourself what Christian lovecan do!

SEPARATION DIVORCE RECOVERY SUPPORT GROUP
Starting in 2015: Monday, January 12February 16 and March 30May 4, 7-8:30pmat the Wholeness Center located on the square at 19 South Main Street downtown Cham-bersburg. Session Cost is $10. For more information or to register, email Cindy Shoemak-er at [email protected] or by calling Central Presbyterian Church 264-4113.
From the Session
Dear Friends in Christ,
Some in our congregation are deeply unhappy with the larger Presbyterian Church (USA), inpart because of the actions of the latest General Assembly that met in June, and will not contin-ue to financially support Central Presbyterian when part of their contributions go to support the
PCUSA. In order to provide relief of conscience for those so convicted, the Session took thefollowing actions at its Nov. 18th meeting:
Directed that our General Assembly Mission giving will continue to be designated entirely tosupport the ministry of Dan & Elizabeth Turk, missionaries to Madagascar. Our GA missiongiving has been designated to support the Turks for many years. Directed that our mission giving to Carlisle Presbytery be retained entirely within CarlislePresbytery. Currently 37.5% of this giving is sent to the Office of the General Assembly. Voted to allow individuals and families to opt out of Per-Capita giving. The church is as-sessed a per-capita payment of $25 per active member, with the monies divided among thePresbytery, Synod and General Assembly to fund the administrative workings of those entities. If for example ten active members wish to opt out of per-capita, Central will withhold $250 ofour total per-capita assessment and redirect that $250 to local mission. Those wishing to optout are asked to send their request by letter or email to Don Wissner, chairman of the FinanceCommittee. Directed the Clerk and Pastor to write a letter to the Office of General Assembly stating theSessions deep unhappiness and concern regarding the actions of the last General Assemblyand stating we are taking the above actions.
The Session recognizes that we have differences of opinion on the actions of the General As-sembly, and hopes the above will satisfy the concerns of all involved and allow us to disagreeagreeably. If you have any comments to share, please contact Pastor Scott or Clerk of SessionKathryn Finley.
From Centrals Trustees: It is with great sadness that we must announce the demise of an oldfriend the faux wood-paneled refrigerator in the church kitchen. Said refrigerator hasserved us well for over twenty years, but could no longer keep its cool. Our trusty friendhas now transitioned to whatever awaits refrigerators when they shuffle off their refrigerantcoil. However, we have some good news as well the Trustees have replaced the old with a
shiny new commercial refrigerator that we hope will serve us as well as the old one. The re-frigerator was paid for by monies drawn from the Building Fund.

designated solely for use within the Presbytery.

Directed the Clerk and Pastor to write a letter to the Office of General Assembly stating the Sessions deepunhappiness and concern regarding the actions of the last General Assembly and that Central is responding by:(1) continuing to designate all General Assembly Mission giving for the support of Dan & Elizabeth Turk, (2) directing

ORGAN ADDITIONS TO THE GLORY OF GODAND
IN MEMORY OF JOHN H. WINGERT
The Casavant pipe organ originally installed in 1940 hasundergone some revisions in past years. In the 1960s and1970s both the swell and great divisions were updated.
However, nothing had been done to the choir division.
After John Wingerts death a little over a year ago it wasdecided that upgrading the choir division plus a few otheradditions would be a nice memorial for John, given byhis wife Helen, Selma Thomson, and many other contrib-
utors.
Craig Doyle, asproject coordina-tor, has had a lot
of experience in the organ building field having workedat one time for the Moller Organ Company in Hager-stown MD. He was instrumental in doing the releather-ing of our Casavant in the late 1990s and putting in thesolid state combination action for the pistons. Workingwith Craig was Mark Cooley of Orrstown, also a formerMoller Organ Company employee. Walker Technical,
based in the Allentown PA area was the firm that sup-plied the new digital ranks.
The preparation for and the installation of this
project took several days. The pictures showjust some of the many wires and parts that noone sees on an ordinary Sunday. Finally thehead of Walker Technical, Bob Walker, came tovoice the digital stops so all would be compati-ble with the current Casavant stops.
We are grateful to all who contributed to thisproject in any way, but a special thanks goes toCraig Doyle who gave very generously of histime and expertise and to Mark Cooley and his
crew for their climbing high into the organchamber, accessing the chamber by removing thedecorative bronze-looking pipes you can seefrom the congregation. Last but not least in the listdeserving recognition were the young men from Walker Technical, one in particular whocrawled down a hole through a trap door located under the pew where Pastor Scott sits in thechancel and then continued to crawl under the floor in a very narrow space to the corner whereHelens mirror is located. (For anyone interested, ask Helen to see the pictures she took). Thiswas done to connect wires from the chamber to the organ console.

(project co-ordinator), and Mark Cooley, whoworks with Craig
