If you live in the villages and need community service hours, stop in and help us help your

children advance in their studies. MSU Extension will also offer classes throughout the year.

What’s Happening?

Sue White is our Ross Grant Service Coordinator and she is located at the Dulhut Village Com-

puter Lab. She is there to help our residents get connected to services and resources through

our Ross Grant. Here are a few agencies partnering with Port Huron Housing Commission.

Financial Literacy - Presented by 5.3 Bank - Their goal is to help you understand credit and how to

boost your credit score. Their second class is How to Improve Your Savings and Budgeting Skills.

Nutrition –Presented by MSU Extension – Providing six sessions teaching us how to be active and

eat healthy. They will also provide classes for our children during the homework club.

Education – Presented by Literacy Project - We understand some of our residents have a desire to

complete their education, but sometimes there are barriers that keep them from pursuing their dream.

The Literacy Project will be partnering with Port Huron Housing Commission, coming directly to

Health – Presented by St Clair County Health Department - We will have Head Lice and Bedbugs 101

at each village; please don’t miss this informative information. Hygiene: Family Feud Style for our

junior high and high school students. They will present this sensitive subject in a fun way so the kids

will learn and not be embarrassed. Parents we ask that you encourage your children to participate.

For the adults, they will also offer a class: Taking Control of Your Health, the What, When, Where &

How for our families.
