Secondly, this Christmas season is not like anything we could have imagined. My hope and prayer is that some of the distraction that we may have been caught up in previously may not happen this year. As we travel less and social distance because of the pandemic, we have an opportunity to just be in the moment of this most Holy time of year. The birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is something, when contemplated and focused on, can fill us with indescribable joy. That, my friends, as we know, is the true joy of Christmas. Lastly, may you and your family have a safe and Merry Christmas and let us all pray for a joyous, calm and safe New Year. God Bless, Fr Carl

Welcome to Holy Spirit Parish! We are happy that you have chosen to Celebrate with us! Like most of this year, the Christmas Season will be different. The main difference at Holy Spirit Parish this year is that our worshiping spaces have been limited due to the physical distance requirements of the current pandemic. Please be mindful that tickets for all the masses will be available on a first come first serve basis.

    • We ask that you be mindful of others and as soon as you know, please release Mass tickets which you will not be using so others may use them.

    Watch the Livestream

Start your Christmas Celebration with Mass. In light of the space limitations, we invite you to join us virtually. All the Christmas Masses will be livestreamed so you and your family can continue to attend your regular Christmas Mass virtually.

    Photo Ops

Many families traditionally take pictures after Mass on Christmas. This tradition can still happen outside of Mass times. Both Churches will be open from 8:00am – 2:00 pm daily starting Dec. 24th for families to tour the church, to see the decorations, and to take their family photos.

Safety precautions you can take while attending Mass:

    • If you feel ill please stay home. • Wear a Mask and keep it on during Mass. • Make sure you are socially distanced (6’) from

someone with whom you do not live (See the sample seating chart) • While going up for communion keep a distance of 2

pews from the person in front of you. • For an example on how to receive communion please

watch video “Welcome Back to Church” found on our website.

    • Exiting church – Please exit church through the nearest exit to your seat. To aid with our cleaning between Masses we ask that you not linger in the pews or in the aisles.

If we follow these basic guidelines, we will be able to worship safely.

Thank you to those who supported the CHWC Poinsettia Sale.

A poinsettia in the church will be donated and displayed during the

    Christmas Season in memory/honor of:

Advent Reflections 2020: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Written by Holy Spirit Parishioners Compiled by The Worship Committee

While we continue to remain apart because of the coronavirus, we can unite around our common love of God and one another and our need for prayer at this holy season in our church year. Read the chosen reading, read the reflection, and listen for how God is speaking to you. Our prayer is that you will experience a holy Advent and a joyous Christmas. RIPPLES OF HOPE OUTREACH Patty Vande Voort, Administrator of Business and Stewardship 788-7640 or [email protected]

    Vida Donation

In November, Ripples of Hope Outreach made a $1000 donation to Vida, formerly Mother and Unborn Baby Care, for 7 baby car seats. Vida’s main objective as a not for profit organization is to walk with women through trials and tribulations by offering hope and compassion.

St. Anthony Parish Update Thank you to everyone who donated money and food on Thanksgiving to our Sister Parish, St. Anthony Parish.

Another BIG thank you to everyone who donated toys to the children of St. Anthony Parish! You have made their Christmas so much brighter.

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRIES Leah Ackley, Coordinator of Pastoral Care 788-7640 or [email protected]

Thank you to the Pastoral Care Committee and volunteers for your help in preparing and delivering gift bags and poinsettia plants to some of the homebound parishioners of our church family.

Homebound Remembrance deliveries happen three times a year in the Fall, Christmas, and again at Easter. Deliveries include a card, a small book, and a seasonal plant. If you or a homebound loved one would like to be included in future homebound remembrance deliveries, please contact Leah Ackley at the Parish Center.

Christmas Adopt-a-Family This Christmas season, Holy Spirit Parishioners helped

24 local families! Thank you for your open hearts and willingness to help others

that are need of our prayers and support.

FAITH FORMATION Leah Ackley, Interim Director of Religious Education 788-7640 or [email protected]

The Faith Formation team would like to take a minute to share our success that which could not be possible without the genuine excitement, support, and all around efforts of the Faith Formation Mentors and delivery team. As we receive these positive comments and feedback from families (see below), it is inspiring and humbling all at the same time as we realize we are indeed doing God's work. What a most fulfilling feeling. I am so proud of this team and what we have accomplished in only a little over two months time. Crazy!!

To our families (Faith Formation AND Holy Spirit School), I hope you know that our commitment to you—to support you as the Domestic Church—is our top priority. We want to hear not only your successes but your struggles too…because this thing called parenting is far from easy. Don’t hesitate to reach out! And remember, don’t worry about getting it wrong. Any effort or time spent focused on our faith is always done right.

Registration is closed for this year. If you are interested in getting involved in this ministry in other ways, I welcome your call. I can be reached at the Parish Center at (920) 788-7640 or (920) 788-1401.

As we try to navigate this very challenging time with the Pandemic, the Holy Spirit Parish Staff and Stewardship Committee are overjoyed to be mailing each Holy Spirit Parish household a book which gives us a perspective from God's viewpoint. We hope this gift is an inspiration to you and your family to know that God is with us and will see us through. Relying on Him is all we need.
