ACHIEVE – NATIONAL 5 ONLINE RESOURCE

What is Achieve?

ACHIEVE is a study toolkit for Scottish National 5 exams and covers 11 of the most common National

5 subjects. It can be used both in school and remotely.

Students create individual accounts so they can:

•Review detailed breakdowns of their courses, with key content and learning objectives

•Complete a self-assessment against each topic to highlight areas of high and low confidence

•Follow links to past paper questions & solutions and free external resources (eg, BBC Bitesize)

•Watch video tutorials with advice on National 5 study and revision strategies

The Teacher Portal enables teachers to:

•See their students’ progress through each National 5 course

•Review students’ confidence levels for each topic area

•Identify areas where students require additional support

Subjects: Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing Science, Business Management,

Modern Studies, Geography, History and music.

School Code

Ardrossan Academy has a unique school code which is mpBJ3Gzr. Whenever a member of staff

creates a new user account for ACHIEVE, they should use this code when prompted during the sign

up process as shown below. This will link their user account with the school account.

Page 14: Dear Parent/Carer, - Ardrossan Academy · 2020. 3. 30. · Ardrossan Academy Contingency Plan Dear Parent/Carer, As you are no doubt aware, the situation regarding COVID-19 is a rapidly

Note that students may also use this code when signing up to ACHIEVE, although if class teachers are

signing their students up they would be better to use a class code which can be generated within the

program.

Getting started

We recommend that new teachers begin by watching our Teacher Explainer Video. This can also be

found on the dashboard once they have logged in to Achieve. Below the video there is a 'Use

Achieve with demo data' button which can give teachers an insight into Achieve's functionality using

demo student accounts.

Similarly, students are presented with a Quick Start Guide video when they log into Achieve and we

would recommend that they watch this before using Achieve to rate their courses.

Accessing and using your Glow account.

Glow is Scotland’s digital learning world.

Every pupil has a Glow account.

Your Glow username and password allows you to access various online web services such as Google

classroom, Microsoft Office 365, Glow Blogs and Glow RM Unify Launch Pad (this has many

accessible materials known as tiles).

We have issued you with a reminder of your Glow username on the slip of paper. Make sure you

back this up by writing it down and/or entering the username details onto your mobile phone.

If you DO NOT know or remember your Glow password, then your teacher can reset your password;

they will reset it to adastra (one word). This is the password you must enter when logging onto Glow

after putting in your username – Glow will then ask you to change your password, which YOU MUST

DO to a password that only you know. Again, write this new password down.

If you were absent when the Glow username details were issued, then e-mail us at the school on

[email protected] and we will get back to you with your username and reset your

password if required.
