Background

o Data Democracy was initiated in 2008o End to End process, aiming to strengthen the EO data

utilization cycle by o broadening data in-and situ data/information accesso increasing data dissemination capabilitieso sharing software tools, and o transferring the technologies

o To end users, especially in developing countrieso CEOS continues to support this project (2008-present)o Under purview of CEOS Troikao In 2009, approved as a GEO task in 2009-2010 GEO Work Plan

o CB-09-05e: Infrastructure Development and Technology Transfer for Information Access -Data Democracy, led by CEOS

o Part of GEO Ministerial CBC Showcase

Products are available out there but hard to find !

Data Democracy Portal

o Need one place where users can easily access to those products given by CEOS community

o Put all accumulated products in one placeo By using a search engine which can initially extract

product’ s keywords, thus, users could find data/ documents/ software that they really look for

o No actual images contain in a server but the linkage which guides users to the actual product location

o CEOS members could update the list of products at anytime when they have a new product comes to the program

o Troika closely works with SEO

o keywords shall be requested from products’ providers
