Plan to increase your knowledge...
There is a persistent belief that if you can
conceive an idea and believe you can
accomplish it, you will be able to do so. It is
true that if the idea is yours and you really
believe you can do it, your chances for accomplishing it go up
dramatically. But your thinking must be based on sound input. We
were given minds so that we can gather information, mix it with
common sense, and make sound judgments about what we can and
want to do. I hope that you would want to expand your knowledge
about your chosen trade, locksmithing. If you do, then plan to attend
the locksmith association meetings. You can improve your knowledge
and wisdom dramatically.
The meetings are worth the time and effort that you will put in to
attend. You won’t be sorry or count it as a waste of time. I learn
something every time I attend, plus I have a lot of fun learning it.
See you at the meeting.
Your President,
Mike Middick, CML

Making Decisions
William McKinley, the 25th U.S. President, once had
to choose between two equally qualified men for a key
job. He puzzled over the choice until he remembered a
long-ago incident.
On a rainy night, McKinley had boarded a crowded
streetcar. One of the men he was now considering had
also been aboard, though he didn’t see McKinley.
Then an old woman carrying a basket of laundry
struggled into the car, looking in vain for a seat. The
job candidate pretended not to see her and kept his
seat. McKinley gave up his seat to help her.
Remembering the episode, which he called “this little
omission of kindness,” McKinley decided against the
man on the streetcar. Our decisions - even the small,
fleeting ones - tell a lot about us.
