GENERAL

• Available in four sizes: • Rated for 600 volts, 50 or 60 hertz. • Primary voltage range of 380 volts through to 600 volts. • Operating temperature –40 deg C to +55 deg C. • All equipment designed and built to withstand outdoor desert application. • Manufactured in accordance to Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standard CSA

• Weatherproof enclosure NEMA 3R, welded construction with no overlapping surfaces. Heavy duty tags for pole-mounting.

• 12-gauge steel (2.67mm), corrosion treated (phosphate washed and etched). • Motor and control voltage service located in single enclosure. • Cabinet door equipped with industrial heavy-duty quarter-turn latches. Provision to lock

centre latch with a padlock. • White powder coat finish for superior corrosion protection, oven cured to 425 Deg. F.

Average paint thickness 3 to 5 mils. • External markings (warnings and operator lights and switches) are all silk-screened and

ENCLOSURE CONT’D • Fused isolation switch, spring-loaded, with operating handle. (600V,

current rating will depend on switchboard size) • IEC contactor. (600V, current rating will depend on switchboard size • Current limiting line fuses for heavy fault current protection. • Current transformers (CTS) multi-tapped 300:5, 200:5, 100:5, 50:5 and

25:5. (This ratio multi-tap system eliminates the wrapping of heavy conductors through the CTs).

• 500 VA control and 50 VA instrument potential transformers, tapped for appropriate primary voltage range, (primary 480V; secondary 120V), protected with three primary high voltage PT fuses. (Rated 600V, 3A)

• Labels showing all transformer taps and all external terminations. • Wiring diagrams labels. • 120V control circuit. Two secondary control fuses (1 x ½ amp; 1 x 6

TESTING Quality testing procedure performed separately for each switchboard as follows:

• Point to point loop check. • High-pot test to ensure dielectric strength. • Voltage maximum tests. • Current maximum load test • Functionality tests of all features. • Final check list. • All equipment calibrated to factory settings prior to shipping. • CSA and/or G.O.S.T. certification.

BACKSPIN DETECTION Backspin detection can be provided with most controller options. When requesting this option, choose from the following available probe sizes:

• 1500 – 3000V probes • 1500 – 4000V probes

Notes: 1. Backspin detection will not operate for motor voltages less than 700 volts. 2. Probes should be connected to the high voltage side of the step-up transformer.

An auxiliary power supply, rated at 2000VA, can be provided for use with a chemical pump and/or convenience outlet. Choose from the following available configurations:

• PT primary fuses replaced with three-phase circuit breaker (6A, 600V rated)

• Security doors can be provided. Several designs are available.

• NEMA 4X, stainless steel cabinets for offshore applications.

LIGHTNING AND SURGE PROTECTION Lightning arrestors and surge capacitors can be provided to protect the switchboard components and downhole equipment from dangerous spikes and power surges. Choose from the following options:

HEATER PACKAGE Thermostatically controlled cabinet heaters can be provided for extreme environmental conditions such as low temperature or high humidity.

BRADLEY, MITSUBISHI or JOSLYN CLARK may be supplied), 1500V, 180 Amp rated.

• Current limiting line fuses for heavy fault current protection (1500 volt, 150 amp rated unless otherwise requested)

• Current transformers (CTS) multi-tapped 300:5, 200:5, 100:5, 50:5 and 25:5. (This ratio multi-tap system eliminates the wrapping of heavy conductors through the CTs).

COSCO ESP Pump Panels are designed for 380 volt, 50 Hz or 480 volt, 60 Hz applications where economy and extra security are important factors. Primarily designed for Russian and European markets, they are available with or without amp chart recorders and employ a circuit breaker rather than a fused disconnect switch. Like all COSCO switchboards these models are CSA approved, and in-corporate the high-est quality enclo-sures, paint, and components. Equipment Selection

The standard Control package consists of the VMC-100, VMC-101, VDC-102 and VPT-100. The VMC-100 isavailable with or without the Backspin / Ground fault feature. This feature can be added at any time.

To add the Backspin / Ground fault detection feature, include the VBG-105 and select the Backspin Probes with the proper voltage range (VBP-112 for a 700 to 1500v range or VBP-113 for a 700 to 2500vrange.

All COSCO controller orders come complete with manuals in both English and the customers language,wiring diagrams, transformer tap arrangement and display parameter list.

Control and Instrument Transformer Protection

For transformer primary protection, use primary fuse block VPF-1500 for a primary voltage maximum of1500v or VPF-3000 for a primary voltage maximum of 3000v.

For transformer secondary protection, use the VSF-100 for the 100VA, (VPT-100 transformer, or theVSF-500 for the 500VA (VPT-500)transformer).
