What is the pillared stone builiding ?

• Was founded in 1845• Its motto is ‘ Where Finbarr Taught, Let
Munster Learn’• There is a superstition associated with
the Quadrangle (the main square).
•Students do not cross it before they graduate because they would fail their exams.
What are Ogham stones?
• 380 burial stones• There are inscriptions on them• It is the earliest written source of the Irish
language
‘ Leabharlann’ ?
• This means ‘ library’ in English• It was named after George Boole –
Professor of Mathematics

The Chapel
• Dedicated to Saint Finbarr• You can notice a big mosaic floor
presenting the zodiac, the river of life and the sun
• Only the UCC graduates can get married, no matter of their religious beliefs, just bring your own priest

2pm-5pm (Sun), Monday closed.• Currently ‘ Travelled Tales’ exhibition.• Admission is free, but you are advised to
