As we prepare to enter theannual season of repentance andconversion on Ash Wednesday,our gospel today exhorts us todeepening conversion.Intentional Disciples humblyheed the call to deepeningconversion by removing, withthe grace of God, the beams inour own eyes before we try toremove the splinters in the eyesof others. Not only doesremoving our own beamsenables us to see more clearlythe splinters of others, but ourown examples of repentance,conversion, and spiritual growthwill be far more effective thancriticism or judgment inmotivating others also to

experience conversion themselves.

Helping others become disciples of the Lord is the fruitof our Baptism. This Ash Wednesday, as we receive the ashesthat demonstrate our sinfulness, our mortality, and ourrepentance, may we receive them ever more mindful of theothers who depend on our spiritual progress andconversion—a husband, a wife, our children, ourgrandchildren, our godchildren, our neighbors.

The two-fold fruit of Lent and of the Christian life isgrowth in holiness—which is nothing less than deepening ofcommunion with God—and drawing others to the LORD. Ifour only focus becomes removing bad habits, being a bitkinder, or saying a few more prayers, Lent can appear to be atime of self-help. Instead, Lent is a holy, grace-filled time ofdeepening of our relationship with the LORD, which thenshapes all of our other relationships as well. Jesus reminds ustoday, “every tree is known by its own fruit. . . A good personout of the store of goodness in his heart produces good.” Thefruit of Intentional Disciples is other disciples who desire toknow, to love, and to follow the Lord.

Consider growing closer to God to inspire others withour Lenten theme: Journeying from Woundedness to NewLife.

Attending Daily Mass to begin or end your day withthe Lord

Including daily Scripture reading in your spiritualexercises to attune yourself to God’s Word

Receiving the Sacrament of Confession at least onceduring Lent to experience deeper reconciliation

Praying the Stations of the Cross communally orindividually each week as you walk with the Lord

Si nuestro único enfoque es eliminar los maloshábitos, ser un poco más amable o decir algunas oraciones, laCuaresma puede parecer un momento de autoayuda. Encambio, la Cuaresma es un momento santo, lleno de gracia,de profundizar nuestra relación con el SEÑOR, que luego daforma a todas nuestras otras relaciones. Jesús nos recuerdahoy, “cada árbol es conocido por su propio fruto. . . Unabuena persona que tiene bondad en su corazón produce elbien ”. El fruto de los Discípulos Intencionales son otrosdiscípulos que desean conocer, amar y seguir al Señor.

Students will lead Stations of the Cross on Fridays inLent at 1:30 p.m. following the St. Anthony LentenMusic Offerings at 1 p.m., with the followingexceptions: March 15, no school; April 19, GoodFriday, St. Anthony Youth Ministry will present "Stations of the Cross for Families," a re-telling ofChrist's Passion.

School Mass this week moves to Wednesday,March 6, 9:30 a.m., Ash Wednesday, at St.Anthony of Padua Church. It will be led by eighthgrade.

We are currently enrolling students for the 2019-2020school year. We have partial scholarships availablefor those who need help with tuition, and weencourage you to ask about this. Kindergarten atResurrection engages children in fun and creativelessons. We create a balance so children learn,socially interact, and get what they need to preparethem for future grades. Located in Lancaster city,ours is a safe, yet disciplined environment wherestudents from all cultural backgrounds share theopportunity to achieve. We follow a strong academiccurriculum, and students learn the traditions andteachings of the Catholic faith with daily religionclasses, morning and dismissal prayers and weeklyMasses. BAUTIZOSENCUARESMA - Baptisms in Lent

Por favor, recuerde que el don más importanteque pueden dar a sus hijos después del don de lavida es el don del amor de Dios y la gracia en elSacramento del Bautismo. Por favor, no espere meses o un añoo dos para bautizar a sus hijos. El Bautismo debe celebrarsedentro de las primera semanas del nacimiento de su bebé. Parapreparar a los padres y padrinos, la parroquia provee 2 clasesseparadas. Estas clases pueden ser tomadas, incluso antes deque nazca el bebé. Para mas información y registración pase porla oficina parroquial durante la semana. Durante la Cuaresma,no habrá bautizos el 2 º y 4 º Sábados.

Un bebé recién nacido puede ser bautizado durante laCuaresma, haciendo una cita con el Padre Wolfe. Los próximosBautismos serán: Domingo de Resurrección, 21 de Abril y elSábado 27 de Abril.

Please do not wait months or a year or twoto baptize your child. Baptism should be celebrated within weeksof your baby's birth.
