  REPRESENTING YOU: Pembrokeshire Tourism represents South West Wales on the Ministerial Tourism Advisory

Panel (TAP) ensuring that the voice of the business tourism sector is heard at the highest level within WAG on

marketing, policy and product development issues.

  ATTENDING quarterly business tourism meetings within South West Wales, ensuring CONFERENCE PEMBROKESHIRE

is represented at various national trade shows such as Confex and Event UK and on trade bodies such as Eventia.

  GENERATING LEADS FOR YOUR BUSINESS: Over 90 leads from the two trade events, Confex and Event UK were

forwarded directly to you as CONFERENCE PEMBROKESHIRE members.

  MARKETING CONFERENCE PEMBROKESHIRE: At local events including the Pembrokeshire County Show, where our

“Promoting Pembrokeshire” marquee attracted thousands of visitors. We have this year generated new marketingmaterial and continue to update the website www.conferencepembrokeshire.co.uk 

  WORK CLOSELY WITH OTHER PARTNERS: CONFERENCE PEMBROKESHIRE works closely with Visit Wales and

Destination South West Wales to ensure that the profile of Wales is raised within the Business Visit and Events

industry. Large scale events such as the Ryder Cup will help to keep Wales, and Pembrokeshire as a key destination

within the Principality at the forefront in people’s minds and raise its profile not only in the UK but beyond.

Visit Wales has recently developed a dedicated business

visit website www.traveltradewales.co.uk which acts as a

window for venues, accommodation, activities, and other

resources within the Principality

VISIT WALES also provides business to business workshops as an opportunity for the trade to meet incentive

buyers, providing follow ups and enquiry handling.

Work closely with Visit Britain to support its overseas marketing campaigns

Have hosted 166 trips to Wales for tour operators

Developing a range of image CDs, promotional DVDs, B to B database etc.

Target meetings and events that are associated with Wales’ product strengths  

Look at introducing a Wales bidding unit for major business tourism events

VISIT BRITAIN Started the ‘Keep Britain Talking’ campaign to encourage businesses in the

UK to keep communicating through meetings and events, and also to support the UK

meetings industry by holiday those events in the UK

Confex is the UK's leading event for event organisers. Designed

to inspire, Confex brings together the world of event organisers

, with over 14,000 key industry players attending in 2010. Next

years event in March 2011 sees a major new campaign at which

WHAT DOES THE CURRENT MARKET PLACE LOOK LIKE?

  During the current recessionary climate the corporate arena has been hardest hit, with a clear trend towards

shorter meetings involving short-haul trips. This places Pembrokeshire in a strong position, with a very

different offer to attract companies and associations from within the M4 corridor especially Bristol and the

South West.

  The trend within incentive travel is towards shorter, high impact experiences that combine elements of soft

adventure and free time. With worldwide travel accessible to all, the challenge to design and deliver the

ultimate travel reward only increases.

  Corporate hospitality still continues to be the preferred way of building client relationships, but the

downturn has had an immediate effect. Corporate events and corporate hospitality is increasingly being

required to prove its worth with companies under pressure to demonstrate a return on investment. Clients

though are looking for innovation and creativity with an emphasis on participation.

THE ASSOCIATIONS MEETINGS AND CONFERENCE MARKET IS MORE RESILIENT TO THE

CURRENT CLIMATE.
