• Accreditation: The right to train and qualify the people for the upliftment project. To train teachers, nurses, managers, pastors, counsellors.

• Calvary Academics Curriculum: The brand name of the course material used in our schools, colleges and university campus — through the tablet.

• Structures: Building clinics, schools, college and business structures. Establishing support centres, libraries, halls, sports facilities, servers.

The Five Learning Aspects

The following aspects identify us:

1. E-Learning support platform (Calvary Academic Platform)

2. Modern balanced curriculum (academics and skills)

3. Including a practical component (application in context.)

4. Personal tutor for every student (also as group leader & praxis)

5. Country-wide structures (hubs, schools, support centres, campuses)

Maintaining Quality

• Students must stay in tutor-contact whilst learning.

• Each student has a computer or tablet to the same platform. • The e-solution provided on the web-site must be used to

allow the student to get the benefit of resource material(All students make use of e-learning material, some provided on DVD or stick)

The e-learning Website provides:

Internet links, MP3’s, PPT’s, forum discussions, on-line tests, a grade-book, and extra

articles.

Learning material can also be viewed in colour.

Our technology is up-to-date and will be further enhanced. The technology element is brought in to improve the e-learning experience.

• Learners have personal Tutors

• Have access to the Internet• Register and use the CAP

• Resources on DVDs or “sticks”

• Rural students have access to the same expert teachers

Use Spare time Effectively

We facilitate each skill in the following way:

• Introduce the topic, requiring home-reading• Students use the tear-out cards • The use of the cards and True/False-tests recorded


A Basic Range of IT Skills

Computer Basics CMB 3 credits

• Introduce the topic• Provide all the hardware discussed• Arrange for continued access• Get feedback to show competence

Recognition of Prior Learning For students who are IT literate:1. Grant RPL to obviously IT literate students

2. Student receiving RPL must be competent

3. When in doubt, use an oral test for RPL

Wholesome approach

Offered in a Community complex for:

Healthcare – Education – Spiritual needs

1. Body: Knowledge, Sports, Clinic

2. Soul: Train the mind, Balanced life

3. Faith: Ministry, Ethics, Active outreach (community care, upliftment, education)


Community Serving Credits

Calvary Academics also evaluates:

1. Faith & work in Spiritual context

2. Ministry in community – serving outsiders (upliftment, counselling & training)

3. Personal helping; people serving as Jesus would: making disciples

In this way completing the 7 credits code: MPX


4. Tutors

A pillar of strength & support


The Contact Tutor

1. Calvary appoints a Skilled Tutor who lives near the student. (Character building requires face to face contact.)

2. The Tutor will:• Spend time with the student for encouragement

• Explain the material and our e-learning method

• Disciple the student to form Christ-like character


Qualities of a TutorAs personal Mentor will facilitate learning: • By providing individual help at a Tuition Centre• Or at a considerable distance from a Centre • Even by visiting or appointed inside a prison facility

A Tutor has qualifications: • At least a Diploma qualification • Preferably has experience in a profession • Can evaluate practical work & assignments• Is IT literate in computer basics and MSWord


Character of a Tutor

1. A person of solid character

2. To the student a pillar of strength

3. To the Tuition Centre trustworthy:• Giving progress reports • Evaluating skills assignments • Guiding and marking the practical work


Training at a Distance

• Students must stay in tutor-contact whilst learning.

• A tutor maintains close relationships to students. • The e-solution makes provision for the assistance of the

tutor to provide a contact element.(All students must make use of the e-learning provided)

• 400 complexes: Clinic, School, Church Each affecting population of 100,000

• 31 Support Centres: Offering lectures, libraries and quality support to the complexes and other study groups.

• 9 Campuses: Offering postgraduate education to provide leadership, affecting populations of 4 million+

Calvary Study Fees:Study fees* are valid for the year 2015: (Not including meals, lodging, facilities,

etc.)

1. Toddlers 3 to 5 year old R4,900 (Junior School / Crèche)

2. Grades 1 – 3 R5,700 (Junior School)

3. Grades 4 – 6 R6,200 (Middle School)

4. Grades 7 – 9 R6,800 (Middle School)

5. Grades 10 – 12 R7,500 (College)

6. Phase 1 – 3 (Cert, Dip) R7,500 – 9,600 (College)

7. Phase 4 – 6 R7,700 - 8,800 (University – 31 Support Centres)

8. Phase Masters (research) R9,720+ (University – 9 Campuses)

9. Doctoral & PhD. (Thesis) R10,080+ (University – 3 Main Campuses)


Projected Skills Training

Several classes of skills provide income:• Study Skills• Interpersonal Communication• Information Technology• Personal Skills• Human Relations• Leadership Skills• Work Skills• Basic Office Skills


Earnings: Short CoursesOccasional students:

1. Businesses sending their workers for skills training

2. Training in Africa through mission schools

3. Individuals for life enrichment: single subjects

4. Students enrolled for Short Courses (non-qualifications)

5. Weekend seminars at the support Centres (public attending)

6. Income from companies training their remote branches

7. Regular students paying for extra lectures (graduate, post-graduate)

(The international student potential may lead us to expand these possibilities.)


Sharing the Income Income from fees are shared proportionally:

1. Tutor: Advising, Some marking (15%)

2. Lecturer: Lecturing, Marking (30%)

3. Dean & Admin: Organising, counsel (Ph 1-3 10%, 4-6 20%)

4. Support Centre: Promotion (5%) Guidance Ph 4-6 (7%)

5. Calvary [CLT]: Textbook distribution, Development, Advice (40%)

6. CAP Administration, e-Learning Ph 4-6 (10%)

Initial infrastructure is either rented or purchased by grant funds (International grant to build clinics and schools)

Qualifications Aimed for

These qualifications will be offered after Phase 3:

1. Bachelor of Ministry (Church Pastors)

2. Bachelor of Counselling (Trauma Centres)

3. Bachelor of Education (School Teachers, Also HDipEd)

4. Bachelor of Business Leadership (Entrepreneurship)

5. Bachelor of Business Administration (Corporate CEO towards MBA)

6. Bachelor of Arts (General subjects)

Many Skills professions such as nurses and administrators will be trained up to Diploma and Higher Diploma level


Implementing the Project

1. Planning the first 7 years in several phases

2. Making use of 130 established Tuition Centres

3. Launch the CAP e-learning platform

4. Phase in more advanced e-learning capability

5. Establish 31 Support Centres

6. Develop 9 Campuses – Hub leaders & buildings

7. Train personnel on all levels on continuous basis

We aim for 600,000 students over 14 years!
