PROCUREMENT SERVICES

UTT Procurement Nigeria Ltd was specifically created for the Nigerian market with a team of experienced Nigerian procurement personnel. This is supplemented and supported by the Global reach of the UTT group. Out team has worked in Nigeria for many years and has built up a unique knowledge of local requirements.

On a day to day basis we can provide a full service procuring locally or overseas. This can include sourcing, pre qualification, competitive tender, bid analysis, negotiation, expediting, inspection, invoicing, importations, duty payments, custom clearance and delivery.

We fully support the Nigerian Content Bill and have several initiatives ongoing to increase Nigerian content in our business. We work closely with our customers too, to help them reach their own targets.

To enable us to provide a wide range of products we have engaged a number of agency agreements with prominent overseas manufacturers and stockists. Again we work closely with them to improve Nigerian Content.

We can provide a DDP delivered to site service and we work hard to keep our costs to a minimum, therefore keeping the costs to our customers to a minimum. There are a number of different methods to pay for our services and we will always discuss and recommend to most appropriate to our customers.

Quality of material is one of our main drivers. The oil industry can be a dangerous place if sub standard products are used in critical areas. UTT will only use industry approved sources (or individual company approved sources), we provide a full inspection service if required for critical products and required test certification will always be provided.

PROCUREMENT OUTSOURCING SOLUTIONS

UTT group has experience taken over the procurement activities of GE Plastics in the Netherlands, GE Bayer Silicons in Germany and Nuplex Resins in the Netherlands. For these clients UTT handled all indirect materials procurement, including warehouse management and distribution of the materials on the plants. The procurement staff of the clients was fully integrated in the UTT organization.

UTT also has long-term outsourcing contracts for specific procurement areas with several clients. For instance, UTT has contracts with Kenya Petroleum Refineries, Conoco Phillips Algeria and El Obeid refinery to handle their overseas procurement, including quality checking and consolidation in Europe before shipment.

UTT Procurement believes that many organizations in Nigeria could benefit immensely from outsourcing their procurement activities to UTT. By utilizing our experience UTT could reduce costs, improve quality, reduce procurement time add value in several positive ways.

UTT has the capability to manage procurement of large or smaller categories of material. For example there is a range of material known as ‘low risk’ where it is difficult for companies to add any real value. By outsourcing there is more time available to spend on more critical business products.

MANPOWER

Since the start of UTT Procurement Nigeria Limited in 2009 the number of staff has grown rapidly from 4 employees in 2009 to 19 employees in January 2011. The new employees are all qualified and experienced procurement and logistics professionals and many of them have advanced accreditations by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).

UTT is fully committed to recruit and train more procurement professionals in Nigeria. In 2010 Nigerian UTT staff has also gained valuable international procurement experience by working for several months in a project procurement team in Europe.

LOGISTICS SERVICES

UTT also have their own logistics company in Nigeria, UTT logistics Global Services Limited.

This company handles all the local importation of goods into Nigeria enabling UTT to provide the fastest possible clearance from port. All custom clearance, duty payments, port handling and delivery are professionally catered for.

UTT logistics Global Services Limited can also provide these services to any other company thus ensuring smooth importation into Nigeria. This covers sea freight, airfreight and courier services.

Our Logistics company can also provide outsourcing solutions which may enable our customers improve their speed and efficiency. We have a set of very experienced personnel available who have held senior roles in the major oil companies, both in logistics and HSE.

Outsourcing of warehouses, stock reduction, road transport, customs clearance is all within our scope.
