The meetings continue Sundays through to Thursdays starting at 7:00 p.m and on Sabbaths at 9:15 a.m. Friday is the designated rest night. The series is to run for four weeks. Your support for the success of this initiative is being welcomed along with your prayers. (2) MM 14 “Impacting Lives for Christ The MM 14 “Impacting Lives for Christ” Campaign with Pastor Clive Dottin will begin Sunday March 9, 2014 at the open lot beside the Hagley Park SDA church. The meetings will run Sundays through to Thursdays starting at 7:00 p.m and on Sabbaths at 9:15 a.m. The series is to run for four weeks.     ( 1 ) MM 14 Building Stronger Self, Families and Relationships series

  • (3 ) MM14 Hope Concert at Kings Chapel SDA Church on March 8, 2014

    The East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (EJC) & The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF)

    present "A Benefit Concert" at the Kings Chapel SDA Church on Saturday March 8, 2014 beginning at

    7:00 pm sharp. There will be a treat for the children prior to the start of the concert at 6:30pm.

    We invite you to join us for this event as the police, church and community show love and care to a family

    and community torn by violence.

    Proceeds of the Concert will go to assist with the funeral expenses of the 17 month old baby killed in

    McIntyre Valla ( Dunkirk) recently.

    The concert will have performances by the JC Choir, Carey Sayles, HUMBLE, the JCF Band, the Kencot

    Choir, NCU Choir, EMERALDS, Nagash MCTavish and others.

    Special guests will include officers from the police high command, community leaders and the leadership

    of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamaica. Admission is free but bring an offering. Click here for poster of this event (4) Notices from the Childrens Ministries Department

    1. Child Preachers Graduation will be held on March 8, 2014, @ 3:30 p.m. at the Arnold Road SDA Church. Graduates are expected to be seated by 3:00 p.m.

    Dress code: Males -Black pants with white, blue or pink shirt

    Females White dress or black skirt and white blouse

    2. CMD kindly see the list with the names of the child preachers who will be part of this graduating class on our website under the Childrens Ministries Department. Please bring this to the attention of your church via your clerical notice.

    3. CMDs kindly send us the names of the children who have been selected to participate in the District Bible Spell-a-thon immediately. Hats off to Oak Glades, Washington, Jacks Hill,

    Seaview Gardens and Balcombe Drive churches that have already sent the list to the office.

    4. The Childrens Ministries department will be having its Lap-a-thon on Friday, May 23, 2014. The laps will be done at Emancipation Park between 6 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Proceeds will be in

    aid of the ASI/IAD Belize Mission 2000 & Beyond and Walkers Childrens Home. Contact your Childrens Ministries Zone Presidents.

    5. EJC Childrens choir practice will have its first meeting on March 22, 2014. CM Directors, kindly send us the names of five (5) children from your churches as well as the names and

    telephone numbers of the parent/ guardian. Hats off to Seaview, Washington and Heroes Circle

    for responding on time.

  • 6. The office is now accepting orders for VBS materials and certificates.

    The greatest revenge is to accomplish what others say you cannot.

    (5) Womens Ministries Department

    (1) Leaders Certification Training (part 1) will be conducted from March 27-29, 2014.

    (2) Our Mother Daughter Affair will be held on Sunday April 27, 2014. The contribution per duo is $ 2,000. WMDs you are asked to send in the list of names with at least 50% deposit for each

    pair by Monday, March 31, 2014. Other details including tickets will follow soon.

    (3) Girls of Eloquence Morals and Standards (GEMS) anniversary will be held on Sabbath, April 26, 2014. A venue will be announced shortly.

    (4) WMDs please put on notice all the females in your church as you plan for a special IMAP treat especially for the non SDA spouses in June 2014.

    (5) Coming soon! Rejuvenation and re-tooling. Everyone is invited- man, woman and child. Save for this never to be forgotten, memorable re fuelling occasion. Ladies celebrate with your mates as you use this as a special IMAP treat. Get ready for October 2014 retreat. Watch the

    press for updates.

    (6) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Comm. Services Department

    1. March 22 Sabbath School Community Relations Day

    2. Zone 4 LEA, Sabbath School & Personal Ministries Convention March 29 at the Morant Bay SDA Church at 9 a.m.

    3. The 2014-2015 Ambassador search has begun. We are encouraging all churches to have the juniors, teens and youth, (ages 13-22 years) participate in this programme. Application &

    prerequisite forms are available online and at the EJC office. Registration closes March 28, 2014.

    4. The next Sabbath School meeting for Zones 1-3 will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 10 a.m, all Sabbath School personnel are invited to attend. The venue will be announced at a later

    date.

    5. Senior Citizens bi-monthly meeting will be held on April 27, 2014 at the EJC office at 1 pm.

    1. Kindly take note of the following Stewardship dates:

    a. Stewardship Week April 19-26, 2014

    b. Stewardship Convention May 3, 2014

    c. Stewardship Training for Pastors May 5, 2014 (IAD,JAMU)

    2. The Ministerial Department in collaboration with the Health Ministries Department of East

    Jamaica will conduct a Medical Missionary Training for Pastors An Introduction to Health

    Evangelism. The Programme will be conducted every Thursday in May Dates: May 1st ,

    and June 5th. .

    The venue will be East Jamaica Conference Boardroom

    beginning at 9:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Please register now: - Hydrotherapy and Nutrition,

    Vegetarian Cooling, Anatomy and Physiology, Herbal Remedies, Gods Healing Programme,

    Health Evangelism, Health Reform, Basic First Aid. These are some of the topics to be

    presented.

    (8) Youth Ministries Department

    1. YOUTH DISTRICT IMPACT 2014: The Youth District Impact conducted in the Hampton Court District of Churches on March 1, 2014, was a resounding success and again highlights the fact that

    our vast army of youth is committed to the promulgation of the gospel in our generation. I wish to

    commend you all for the role you played in making the day a delight and a memorable one. Please

    convey our sentiments to members of your delegation who participated in this worthwhile venture.

    Let us continue to employ this spirit of unity, goodwill and enthusiasm as we advance with the

    mission and mandate of serving the youth here in East Jamaica Conference. The Youth Ministries

    Department thanks you sincerely for your sacrificial effort.

    2. EXTENSION: Youth Congress 2014-Guatemala The deadline for registration has been extended to March 31, 2014. Registration cost $US 80.00.

    3. EJC HONOURS COMMITTEE: Pathfinder/Adventurer Clubs are asked to teach the recommended honours within the clubs. If needed, assistance will be provided by the Honours

    Committee. The deadline to make submission for assistance for your club is March 30, 2014.

    4. GLOBAL YOUTH DAY-MARCH 15, 2014 (GYD 2014): The Zone One (1) Youth Federation

    begins its week-long series of activities on Friday March 7, 2014 at the Denham Town Golden Age

    Home where they will serve supper and conduct a worship session. The week will culminate on Global

    Youth Day, March 15, 2014 as they join the other zones and youth across East Jamaica Conference

    participating in acts of kindness. All roads lead to the St. William Grant Park, Down Town, Kingston at

    2:00pm for a Praise & Worship Concert. Please pray for and participate in this worthy venture, (Click

    5. BASIC STAFF TRAINING PROGRAMME: This course is a prerequisite to the Master Guide,

    Senior Youth Leader and Drill Instructor Programmes. The Basic Staff Training Course begins on March

    23, 2014 and is conducted over a two week period. All other training programmes will start on April 13,

    2014. Please be guided accordingly.

  • 6. PATHFINDER JAMBOREE 2014 (APRIL 17-21): All Pathfinder Clubs get ready to spend your Easter Weekend with hundreds of youth from Jamaica Union @ Pathfinder Jamboree 2014. COST:

    7. BIBLE BOOM 2014: Promises to be more inspiring, interesting and fun. The Books to be studied are Hosea-Micah. Every AYS must be on board as we want our youth to become men and women of

    the WORD!!! PLEASE NOTE: The I.A.D Bible Boom Finals will be held in Guatemala during the

    Youth Congress instead of December as we have been accustomed. N.B: While the books for Bible

    Boom are the Minor Prophets, for the Bible Boom at Jamboree it is the first three books - Hosea, Joel

    and Amos. For the juniors, it is 2 Samuel and St. Mark.

    8. 13th YOUTH & CHILDRENS MISSION TRIP TO BELIZE- July 24 August 18, 2014. Interested youth please contact the Children or Youth Ministries Department at East Jamaica

    1. The East Jamaica Conference will be hosting an Education Symposium, this Sunday, March 9, 2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Andrews Memorial SDA Church. A special invitation is

    being extended as we pool our ideas and plans to advance Christian Education.

    2. Education Week is to be held May 5-10 and Education Day on May 10, 2014

    (10) Notice from NCU & JAMU Family Life Department

    The Collage of Humanities, Behavioural & Social Sciences, Northern Caribbean University, in

    Association with the Jamaica Union Conference of SDA present the fifths

    Biennial Psychology Conference on Sunday March 16, 2014 under the theme " Healthy Family

    Life - Educating a Nation for a positive Future".

    All Health and Family Life Department Leaders/ members are invited to click on this link to

    view further information on this event which will have as Keynote Speaker Dr. Jeffrey Brown,

    President of the Bermuda Conference of SDA. Plenary Speakers will include Hon. Rev. Ronald

    Thwaites, MB,JM, Minister of Education, Jamaica and Dr. Alanzo Smith, Family Consellor,

    Greater New York Conference of SDA.

    Where possible, churches are encouraged to pay the required fees and send delegates to this

    2. First Communication Workshop for 2014. The first Communication Workshop for the year gets underway on March 16, 2014 for Zone 4 in Morant Bay and on March 23, 2014 for Zones 1 - 3 at the

    East Jamaica Conference Board Room. The workshops will begin at 9:30 am and 9:00 am respectively

    and will cover the areas of Church Website Administration, News Writing and Sound Equipment. We use

    this opportunity to invite all members of the Communication Team (Audio Visual & Sound Technicians)

    of every church to be in attendance.
