    Please see important dates and events of the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists below.

    (1) Annual Week of Prayer

    The Seventh-day Adventist Church's annual week of prayer begins this Sabbath November 2, 2013 and

    every Church in our Conference and indeed the world will spend the week in prayer to God as we seekto heed His word and draw closer to him.

    In this year's week of prayer greetings, Adventist world president Ted. N. Wilson asks, "How is yourChristian life? Does each day draw you closer to the Lord, or do you seem to be stuck in yourrelationship, or possibly even drifting away from Him?"

    This years Week of Prayer readings, And They Followed Him, focus on Revival and the ChristianLife, and how we can have a vibrant, happy, and rewarding relationship with God. You wont want tomiss a day of these special readings that go beyond outward appearances and aim straight for the heart.

    (4) Festival of the Laity - November 13 - 16, 2013

    By now you should have made reservation to attend the East Jamaica Conference Festival of the Laitywhich will be held this year under the theme "Ignited by His Power" from November 13 -15, 2013 atGolden Acres in Golden Spring and at the Hagley Park SDA Church on November 16, 2013.

    Come hear keynote speaker Pastor Everett Brown, President of the Adventist Church in Jamaica alongwith EJC President Pastor Adrian Cotterell speak words of hope to the church.

    A prelude to Metro Mission 14 (MM14), Festival of the Laity is a must see for all passionate disciples students of the School of Evangelism (SOE) and delegates chosen for your churches should begin preparation now.

    Who would want to miss the special awards dinner in this the 'Year of the Laity' which will be heldat the V.H. Percy Centre on November 17 at 2:30pm.

    NB. A contribution of $1,200.. will be required for each person attending the dinner.

    (5) Leaders' Summit 2013 - December 1, 2013

    All 2014 Board Members, leaders and prospective leaders with team members of every department ofthe church, are invited to attend the East Jamaica Conference annual Leaders Summit which will beheld at the Kencot SDA Church on December 1, 2013.

    Come hear words of inspiration from the servant of God , Elder James Daniels, Associate StewardshipDirector at the Inter American Division as he addresses the church under the theme , "TriumphantGrace".

    We invite all elders and pastors to ensure that their church is properly represented at this very importantmeeting.

    (6) Camp Meeting 2013 - December 11 - 14, 2013

    Camp Meeting 2013 is almost here. The East Jamaica Conference in association with the East JamaicaConference Lay Evangelistic Association present the largest and most exciting event on the Calendar ofevents for the year.

    Camp Meeting this year will be extra special and different as our home grown dynamic lay evangelistswill have the opportunity to lift of Jesus to the world during the four day celebration .

    Camp Meeting will begin on December 11, 2013 at the Kencot SDA Church and go until on December14, 2013. We invite you to come experience another life changing spiritual refreshing as top layevangelists from our church present the Word of God with power and clarity.

    Come listen to powerful songs of inspiration and praise from music ministers like Carey Sayles, JewelOsbourne, Footprints, Kencot Youth Choir, Shelly-Ann Brown and much more sing your favorite songs.

    This year make the difference and bring a friend. You have to be there !

    (7) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Community Services Department

    1. The second special seminar for all Community Services leaders & volunteer will be held onNovember 2, 2013 at 4 p.m at Half Way Tree SDA Church. This will help persons prepare forinvestiture on November 16, 2013 at the Festival of the Laity .

    2. The long awaite d Senior Citizens month celebration is here: The Zones 1-3 Senior CitizensConvention will be held on Sabbath, November 23, 2013 at the Constant Spring SDA Church, 9 a.m and Zone 4 Convention at Morant Bay SDA on November 30. Banquet will be held on Sunday,November 24 , at the Police Officers Club, starting at 3 p.m cost $1000 . The deadline forpayments is November 7 . We seek your support. Belated bir thday greeti ngs to our senior s, bornJanuary to September & happy bir thday to our October celebrants ; wishing you good health and longlife .

    3. EJC School of Evangelism (EJC SOE) final general class meeting - November 3, 2013, 9:30 a.m 12:30 p.m in the EJC boardroom - PLEASE TAKE YOUR REFRESHMENT .

    4. The EJC School of Evangelisms team expresses thanks f or your support of our Monthly Fasting &Prayer. We encourage you to continue praying in your clusters.

    (8) Youth Ministries Department Update

    THANK YOU The EJC Youth Ministries Department wishes to express sincere gratituto the scores of area coordinators, federation presidents, youth leaders and youth who

    volunteered to make the recent Adventurer & Pathfinder Exams a seamless process. Specthanks to Exam Coordinator Theresa Easy & her team.

    1. Exam Re-sit : There will be a re-sit for all candidates who were not successful in the recent Adventurer& Pathfinder Exams. Persons who never sat the initial exams may also register to do so on this date. Thedate for the re-sit is November 17, 2013 on the grounds of the Kencot SDA Church, starting at8:00am sharp! Please contact your Area Coordinator and/or your Club Director.

    2. Youth in Leadership Month: The month of November has been designated as Youth in LeadershipMonth. Consequently, all churches are encouraged to allow the youth to take charge of the various

    church programmes, elect a mock church board and officers to function, under guidance, for themonth. This is a means of training our youth to effectively function as leaders within our churches.SUCCESS!

    3. Zone Four (4) Youth Federation Day: Join the Zone 4 Youth Federation on November 9, 2013 atthe Seaforth SDA for its Grand Federation Day. The guest speaker for this special occasion will bePastor Michael Henry- Youth Director, JAMU.

    4. Pathfinder Festival: The annual Pathfinder Festival will be held on the grounds of the Kencot SDAChurch, 10-12 Osbourne Rd, Kingston 10 on November 24, 2013 commencing at 9 am. All zones should

    be in high gear for this day! Please see poster below for further details.

    5. Youth Congressoree: You are encouraged to start planning for this NOT TO BE MISSED function,which is scheduled for December 20 & 21. Friday night @ Half Way Tree Church and on Sabbath @Karram Speid Auditorium, Merl Grove High. Guest speaker will be Pastor Keith Morris out of the USA.Plan to be there!!!

    6. Youth Awards Banquet: The annual Youth Awards Banquet will be held on December 22, 2013 atHotel Four Seasons, 18 Ruthven Road, Kingston 10, starting at 5:00pm. The ticket cost remains thesame as last year, at $3,000.00 each. Application Forms can be obtained from your area coordinator/youthlarders or be downloaded from the Youth Ministries Department ( EJC website @ ejcsda.com). Deadline forsubmission of ALL FORMS is November 29, 2013.

    The young do not know enough to be prudent and therefore they attempt the

    (9) Notices from the Women's Ministries Department

    1. Direc tors Appreciation, Graduation for Soft Skills Training and Levels 2 & 3 LeadershipCertification Training will be held December 7, 2013. Venue to be decided.

    2. The Girls of Eloquence Morals and Standards (GEMS) 4 day leadership seminar was held fromOctober 24 - 27, 2013 at the Holiday Inn Spree underthe theme Called to Serve. In attendance were ourMentors and Jewels who had separate presenters.

    Mrs. Yvonne Bignall, our main speaker, used a practical approach as she implored the GEMS, whichshe referred to as Gods Glamour Girls to committheir lives to be standard bearers. The presentations

    were packaged with the ideals and ideas embedded in eloquence, morals and standards.

    (11) Final Communication Workshop For Zones 1 - 3 - Nov. 14- 2013

    Please read in this week's church Announcements

    All elected Communication Leaders and Assistants as well as Audio Visual (A/V) Team members areinvited to attend the final communication workshop for the year. This will be a practical and hands onworkshop which is designed to give church Communication and A/V Team members the skills toimprove their offering to the church and Conference in the areas of News Writing, Photography &

    Videography.

    We will also be sharing with our team members the Marketing materials for the MetroMission 14Campaign.

    It is imperative that representatives from every church attend.
