Commissioner Bovo was sworn-in officially as Vice Chairman by clerk of the courts HarveyRubin. In attendance was his wife Viviana and two of his Five children Bianca and Steve.The installation ceremony will follow.

Commissioner Bovo, Jr. joined Hope for Autism United Soccer Foundation on January 9thfor their ribbon cutting ceremony of the opening of their new office in Miami Lakes. The program teaches fundamental soccer skills to children with ASD and other relateddevelopmental issues, providing a supportive environment that encourages a life-long loveof exercise, while helping to combat obesity. The weekly practice helps to improve fine andgross motor skills, encourages communication and social behavior, including the ability tofollow directions, take turns and consider other teammates.

On January 16th, 2015 along with newly sworn-in chair Commissioner Jean Monestime,Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr. was sworn-in by the Honoarable Senator Marco Rubioas the new Vice-Chair to the Miami Dade County Board. In attendance were hisparents Esteban and Marilyn, in-laws Vivian and Antonio,wife Viviana, three of his fivechildren Oscar, Sohpia, and Alessandro, as well as close friends and collegues.

Miami-Dade County officials, industry leaders and fellow citizens contributed in buildingmomentum towards a comprehensive and coordinated public transit system at the 2015Transportation Summit that took place Jan. 22. The goal of this event was to bringtogether stakeholders, agencies, the community and national experts to focus on thefuture of transportation in Miami-Dade County to discuss the next major transportationprojects in our community. Commissioner Bovo was among the many speakers that spoke at this informativeTransportation event that was held at Miami Dade College- Wolfson Campus.

Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr., in partnership with the Town of Miami Lakes Mayor andCouncil and the Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department, presented a workshopentitled "How to do Business with Miami-Dade County" on Friday, January 23rd. The eventtook place at Miami Lakes Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and over 100persons participated in the workshop. A special thanks to the Chambers of Commerce of Hialeah, Town of Miami Lakes andMedley!
