A final thanks

This will be my final report for the year, and I would like to

take this opportunity to thank all those people who have

supported the school over the last twelve months. Your

efforts do not go unnoticed and are much appreciated.

Thank you again for your valued and continued support

throughout the year and I look forward to working with you

for the benefit of your children in 2014.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas

and a safe and happy 2014.

Enjoy the holidays.

2014 for CEFA students - $20,000 per year for tuition and

Deputy Principal Messages Crocodiles!

In recent weeks our Year 2 students have made some

fantastic crocodiles that are now on display in the office

foyer. Pictured here are some great examples by Georgia,

Georgie and Haylee.

Also on display at the moment are a number of junior

secondary artworks that are quite striking.

If you have a chance to come into the office over the final

week of the year, it’s well worth a look!

Presentation Evening

Don’t forget that next Monday evening will be Presentation

Night. Students receiving awards and their parents are being

notified and will receive invitations early this week. The

evening is a great showcase of our hard working and talented

students. We look forward to getting together as a school

community to celebrate our students’ achievements.

Thanks Casual Staff

As this is the final newsletter for the year, I would like to take

the opportunity to thank the array of casual and temporary

staff that have helped us out this year. We have had a number

of short term and long term positions that have needed

covering and our students have been well taught by our

casual teaching staff. On behalf of the school community, we

thank all teachers who have made themselves available this

year, both for day to day casual work and for longer blocks of

relief teaching.

Holiday Chess

Towards the end of the coming school holidays there will be

another NSW Junior Chess League tournament held in

Griffith. This will be a great tournament for our budding

chess players to be involved in, especially those who hope to

try out for our school teams next year. It is also an

opportunity for players to receive or improve their chess

ratings. If your child is interested in attending, please let me

know. Note that there is a venue change. In the past these

tournaments have been held at St. Patrick’s Primary School,

but this time it will be at Griffith East Public School. Here are

all the details:

I trust that everyone will have a safe and happy holiday, and

we look forward to new learning experiences for all our

students in 2014.

Primary News Reward Day

On Tuesday the 17th

December at 11.30-2.00pm we will be

celebrating our Diamond Reward at the pool. Students will be

treated to a sausage sizzle for lunch. Students may wear

casual clothes and bring along some spending money if

desired.

Students receiving their Emerald Award will remain at school

and have a surprise reward with Mrs O’Connor. Swimmers

attending their Diamond Reward at the pool will need to

return their green permission note by Friday 13th

to be able to

attend the excursion. Double Diamond students will receive

an ice cream for their special reward.

Thank you

Fond farewell

I would like to take this small space to say goodbye and thank

you to all those who have filled my life over the last 5 years. I

will never forget my time in the bush and my education about

rural life in a farming community. Philip and I have

experienced drought, heat, flood, flies, dust storms, joy and

heart ache along with you and have come to love this vast flat

land, and the people who live here.

Most of all I will miss your children. They are precious and

unique every one and I wish them all the best that life can

offer. It was a privilege to teach them.

Thank you again

Jenny Rogerson

Santa comes to Coleambally Central School

Next Tuesday 17th

December Santa will once again be

visiting CCS with his empty Santa sacks. Students are

encouraged to please bring a gift to place in Santa’s sacks, so

that he can deliver these to the Salvation Army to distribute to

needy families. Please do not wrap your gifts as this makes it

easier for the Salvation Army to distribute the gifts.

Thank you
