Office of Preparedness

• Division of EPR formed in August of 2009

• Formally the Office of EMS, Trauma and Emergency Preparedness

• Grant funded solely to conduct public health preparedness and response activities

Mission: To assure the health and well being of individuals and communities in the State of Georgia by preparing for, responding to and recovering from events of public health significance.

Functions of DEPR

• Provide strategic and operational guidance to 18 health districts

• Act as public health preparedness and response communications hub

• Coordinate and manage state level response to events of public health significance
