The GLL files include data on our full product line from indoor Hi-Fidelity Speakers to outdoor High Power Speaker Arrays. EASE® Evac, exclusively from AFMG® Technologies, is an intuitive software tool for designing acoustic mass notification concepts in a room, hall, building complex or outdoor area. Based on the proven EASE professional sound design technology, EASE Evac was developed specifically for life safety professionals. It will assist in the design of Mass Notification System (MNS) to meet new intelligibility code requirements and save designers and installers time and money by limiting over-design and reducing post-installation changes. The 3D simulation software calculates the distribution of direct sound levels as well as total sound levels, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and speech intelligibility (STI, ALCons, CIS). The latter calculations are based on statistical room acoustics. In EASE Evac, all rooms are defined by a 2D floorplan and a height, including outdoor space. This simple approach speeds up modeling tremendously in everyday projects. The import of images, AutoCAD DXF-format or Google SketchUp files as well as EASE room models simplifies the building of rooms with a complex layout. Several tools enable a quick modeling from scratch. Projects can consist of more than one room, each with its own room acoustic, defined by entering the reverberation time or assigning wall materials with their absorption coefficient to the surfaces of the room. Wall- and ceiling-mounted loudspeakers, horns or sirens can be added to the model and may be positioned individually. Alternatively, the auto-arrange functions will quickly ‘install’ a vast number of ceiling loudspeakers in a user- defined grid. Sound source data is given in the EASE GLL format, AFMG’s primary loudspeaker file format. Based on the room and the sources defined, the propagation of sound is simulated. Mappings on horizontal and vertical cutting planes visualize the calculation results. These results are shown as broadband or frequency dependent mappings with user–defined frequency ranges between 1/3 octave and 3 octaves, absolute or relative values, and A-weighted or non-weighted. Noise levels can be accounted for in order to perform speech intelligibility calculation according to IEC 60268-16. Both mappings and statistic distribution graphs present the following results: Direct sound pressure level Total sound pressure level Signal-to-noise ratio STI ALCons CIS For detailed examination, the frequency response graph shows the frequency dependent pressure levels at user defined positions in the room. The complete system design as well as all results can finally be saved as a ready-to-print report in PDF or RTF format. Designing for Intelligibility

EASE Evac Software Design Tool

Cooper Notification is pleased to offer speaker data files for the EASE Evac Software program.

Alternatively, the auto-arrange functions will quickly ‘install’ a vast number of ceiling loudspeakers in a user-defined grid.

Both mappings and statistic distribution graphs present the following results:

• Directsoundpressurelevel

• Totalsoundpressurelevel

• Signal-to-noiseratio

• STI

• ALCons

• CIS

For detailed examination, the frequency response graph shows the frequency dependent pressure levels at user defined positions in the room. The complete system design as well as all results can finally be saved as a ready-to-print report in PDF or RTF format.

To import Cooper Notification speaker data files:Click on the following link and scroll to Cooper Notification Speaker (GLL) Files - EASE Evac Software.http://www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/safety/notification/resources/design_center_tools/software_tools.html

Download the CN EASE Evac GLL v1.0.zip file to your desktop. Right click on the downloaded file and select “Open With” and select “Compressed (zipped) folders” accept the default location, which should be your desktop again (make note of the folder name it will create). Open EASE Evac. Click File/Import System Definitions and browse to the newly created folder on your desktop. At the bottom of the window select .gll as the “Files of type”, browse to your desktop and locate the EASE Evac folder. Select all the .GLL files and click open. Follow the prompts and import all the GLL files.
