OUTCOME: SS make a big farm in groups and label at least two animals. PROCEDURES: Warm-up - Children watch a video “Old Mc Donald” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oYKonYBujg Teacher mimes the actions of the animals, then students perform like animals while they are singing the song. - Teacher shows a bag and asks: What is it? A volunteer goes to the front of the class and touches the bag. Teacher asks, what’s inside the bag? - After, the teacher shows pictures of different farm animals. Students repeat the new words after the teacher.

LEVEL: FIVE - YEAR - OLD CHILDREN

CONTENT: SCIENCE

TOPIC: ANIMAL FARM

MATERIALS: Papers, colors, markers, pictures of animals, pictures of a farm a and a jungle, a bag, a ball

OBJECTIVE: To identify farm animals and their habitats and discriminate them.

OUTCOME: SS make a big farm in groups and label at least two animals.

PROCEDURES:

Warm-up

- Children watch a video “Old Mc Donald” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oYKonYBujg Teacher mimes the actions of the animals, then students perform like animals while they are singing the song.

- Teacher shows a bag and asks: What is it? A volunteer goes to the front of the class and touches the bag.Teacher asks, what’s inside the bag?

- After, the teacher shows pictures of different farm animals.Students repeat the new words after the teacher.

-The class is divided in two groups A and B. Students play Charade: one student mimes a farm animal and does its sound, the rest of them guess the name of the animal.Teacher: What animal is it?Students: It’s a horse.-The teacher shows a house and a picture of a dog and elicits the answer through a question Where does the dog live?Students answer in a house.

Then the teacher shows a picture of a farm and a jungle:

Students compare both pictures. The teacher asks, Where does a pig live? (Pointing to the animal picture)Students stick the picture of the animal on the correct habitat.

-The teacher throws a ball to students and the child who gets the ball answers this question:What’s your favorite animal?

-Students receive a piece of paper with a circle. They draw their favorite farm animal, color and decorate it.Using their drawings the teacher helps them to make a finger puppet.

Students sing the song “Old Mc Donald” with their finger puppets.

-Students receive a paper where they cross the corresponding picture:

Project work:-Students are asked to make a farm in groups and are given materials such as cardboard, colored paper, cotton, Play Doh, glue, markers, etc.

At the end of the class, the teachers asks about what they have learnt and how they felt. They are also given a sheet of paper to mark the faces about how they felt.

Plant life cycle

CLIL LESSON PLAN

LEVEL: PRIMARY

CONTENT: SCIENCE

TOPIC: PLANT LIFE CYCLE

MATERIALS: A plant, seed, papers, colors, pictures

OUTCOME: Students identify the life cycle of a plant.

PROCEDURES:

-Teacher shows a plant

Students give their ideas of what they know about plants. Teacher writes them on the board.

-Students watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ3fRX1yqyM and “Sid the seed”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm12JKhNnWY

They make a list to compare what they’ve seen with their prior knowledge.-Students name what is needed for plants life cycle, teacher writes the ideas on a mind map:

-Teacher shows them pictures of plant life cycle and students put them in the correct order:

-Students work in pairs : they write a short description of what happens in each picture. Teacher corrects their work with the whole class participation and contrasts their ideas.

-Students make an experiment: they plant a seed, after that they make a mini book that shows the plant life cycle including pictures. Then , teacher makes a class exhibition of students’ works.

-Students complete the following worksheet about what they learnt in class:
