IOWA ASSESSMENTSYou will note in our calendar of events that our
third through fi fth graders will be taking Iowa As-sessment tests the week of March 1, 2016. These assessments are one measure that tell us how our kids are doing towards meeting benchmarks. We ask that you please encourage your child to do their personal best and if at all possible refrain from making outside appointments during the school hours during this week so that your child does not need to make up these assessments. Thank you in advance with your help with this request.

Making Up Instructional Time Lost to Weather
The District is required to make up all instructional time lost when classes are delayed or cancelled because of weather. Options include using a make-up date as identi ed on the District calendar, adding time to the beginning and end of a school day starting after spring break, or tapping into hours in excess of the state minimum requirement of 1,080.
Make up decisions for weather events are decided on a case-by-case basis. Families will always be made aware as early as possible following a weather event through the School Messenger call system and the District website.

HELLO HEART HEROES! You are doing an incred-
ible job helping the American Heart Association save lives! We are all doing our part to make a difference, and every dollar counts. There is still time to spread the word and raise
money for Jump Rope for Heart. Donations are due on March 1st.
Remember - if you raise just $5, you will earn Super Pup and $20 earns Capt’n Bark! If you re-ceive a donation online, you will get Ninja Star! If you raise $85 online you will receive MARTIA N. MUTLEY!
Need help raising donations? Here are some ideas to try!
1. EMAIL - Use the HeadQuarters email tool to ask friends and family to support you with a donation - there’s a nice, simple fundraising letter already written for you.
2. SPREAD THE WORD - Ask your mom and dad, friends and family members to email their co-workers about supporting the American Heart Association.
3. GET SOCIAL - Ask your Mom and Dad to share your campaign on Facebook and Twitter!
Follow this links to register a student (Click “Our School Page” and “Join a Team”)
