The Argentine Scallops are harvested wild, from the cold, clear waters of the Argentine continental shelf and frozen-at-sea on board the vessel - ensuring maximum freshness. They are known to have a delicate firm texture, a high cooking meat yield, and an exceptionally sweet flavor

Snow CrabClearwater Snow Crab comes from the clear cold waters of the North Atlantic Ocean and are harvested They are harvested from early May to mid-September.

Our Canadian Coldwater Shrimp is harvested wild, from the icy waters of the North Atlantic. Situated on the rugged coast of Newfoundland, our strategic location means optimal selection, reduced time between harvesting and processing and unmatched quality and freshness.

Bedford, Nova Scotia – Live Lobster Plant, Retail Store, Corporate Head Office

Bedford, Nova Scotia, is the location of Clearwater’s Corporate Head Office, the Bedford Retail Store, as well as a live lobster holding facility.

In addition to servicing the global customer base, the live lobster holding facility is one of the distribution and service centers for lobster and other products shipped to our e-commerce shoppers across much of mainland North America.

Arichat, Nova Scotia – Live Lobster Dryland Storage Facility

Arichat is located on the north eastern shore of Nova Scotia and is home to Clearwater’s Dryland Storage facility, which allows Clearwater to hold and ship live lobster to our global customers on a year round basis.

In a typical year over 8 million lbs of live, premium, lobster move through these facilities and to our customers across North America, Europe and Asia.

Grand Bank Seafoods, Grand Bank, Newfoundland – Frozen at Sea Arctic Surf Clams, Propeller Clams, & Masago

Grand Bank Seafoods, located in Grand Bank, Newfoundland is found on Newfoundland’s rugged coast, on the northern shore of the Burin Peninsula.

Grand Bank Seafoods joined Clearwater in 1991 and today employs approximately 135 people processing some 10 million lbs of arctic surf & cockle clams long favored in Asia and across Asian markets in North America.

Highland Fisheries, Glace Bay, Nova Scotia – Snow Crab

Highland Fisheries, located in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, is a seasonal processing facility (May-October) for Clearwater’s Snow Crab.

Snow crab is processed into clusters. A cluster (or section) is one side of the crab with legs and claw. The crab is brine frozen to protect the meats from dehydration. The clusters are size graded by weight, packed into 30 lb master cases and shipped to markets.

Pierce Fisheries, Lockeport, NS – Frozen at Sea Scallops, Argentine Scallops, Bacon Wrapped Scallops & Raw Lobster Processing

 

Pierce Fisheries is located in Lockeport, on the south western shore of Nova Scotia.

Pierce Fisheries is a one of Clearwater’s biggest processing facilities, responsible for the handling and expert packaging of Clearwater’s frozen at sea scallops, as well as processing and packing Clearwater’s innovative Nova Scotia Prime Raw Lobster product line.

In 2011, Clearwater introduced our first value added product, Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops, which are also handled and packaged at our Lockeport facility.

In 2013, Clearwater Introduced Scallops and Sauce to our value added products which come in three flavors; garlic cream, marinara and sun dried tomato.

St. Anthony Seafoods, St. Anthony, Newfoundland – Cold Water Shrimp& Snow Crab 

St. Anthony Seafoods, located in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, is located on the northern reaches of the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador, and is known as the iceberg, whale, and moose capital of the world.

The St. Anthony processing facility is responsible for Clearwater’s Cold Water Shrimp. The St. Anthony facility is widely considered to be, “state of the art”, where 150 plant and quality assurance personnel process some 4 ½ million lbs of Cold Water Shrimp annually for our customers around the world.

Glaciar Pesquera SA, Argentina – Argentine Scallops

 

Glaciar Pesquera SA is a company Clearwater has in Argentina in association with an Argentinean partner. It was founded in 1995 to dedicate exclusively to the catching and processing and exportation of Patagonian scallop in Argentina.

Qingdao, China, China Processing - Cockle Clams, Propeller Clams, Arctic Surf Clams  

Qingdao, China, is the location of Clearwater’s only processing plant outside of the maritime provinces.

Frozen at Sea Cockle, Propeller, and Surf Clams are shipped to Qin Dao where they are processed in our facility.

Louisville, Kentucky – Live Lobster Storage Facility 

Clearwater’s Louisville live lobster facility is situated near UPS Worldport, the national and global hub for United Parcel Service of America (UPS). This lobster facility was built in 1999 and opened in 2000 primarily to support and expand Clearwater’s ecommerce initiative in which live lobsters could be ordered online by 4pm and received anywhere in continental USA by 10am the following day

Over 1 million pounds of live lobster go through the Louisville facility annually and they also do a significant local retail business at the plant.

Fleet Operations Facility 

The pulse of Clearwater’s harvesting operations is the Fleet office located in historic Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada.

It is from here the harvesting operations of Clearwater’s 14-vessel, ‘state of the art’ fleet are planned, communicated and monitored.

In addition to Clearwater’s fleet which harvests clams, lobster, crab and scallops, Clearwater has 2 significant Joint Venture Partnerships involved in the harvesting of Argentine Scallops - Glaciar Pesquera, S.A., and Canadian Coldwater (Frozen-at-Sea) prawns - Clearwater Ocean Prawns.

MSC is a global organization working with fisheries, seafood companies, scientists, conservation groups and the public to promote the best environmental choice in seafood. With the aid of thorough auditing procedures, the MSC identifies sustainably managed fish stocks and permits the use of its blue eco-label on final packaging, providing consumers with an indication of best seafood choices.
