Software Requirements Specification 1.0 Introduction: 1.1 Purpose: Internet based Online Ticket Reservation System for Cine Mall which can be accessed through out the net and can be accessed by anyone who has a net connection. This application will automate the reservation of tickets and enquiries about availability of seats. This application includes e-mail confirmation for the tickets. 1.2 Scope:

• The cine mall has a website and anyone can access it through internet. The cine mall is a multiplex which has five screens. Each screen has three different types of seats/classes. Only Fifty percentages of seats are available for online reservation.

• User can login into the system through the first page of application. • User can change password after logging into the system. • User should be able to create a new login for accessing the reservation facility. • The login id and password should be sent to the mentioned e-mail address, if a

new account is created. • Query the films on show for two weeks. • See his current reservation on different movies along with details. • User can select the mode for the transfer of ticket whether through the courier or

collection at counter. • Debit/Credit card payments for reservation of tickets. • SMS/mail should be sent for concern persons about the confirmation of tickets to

specified mobile number/e-mail address. • A calendar should be there which have the persons to select dates. It should also

show the public and national holidays. • The system should automatically show the fair of the corresponding and amount

of money to be paid for selected seats. • To provide service for the customer at anytime and anyplace. • To provide refund for the cancellation of tickets, this is not available in the

existing system. • To minimize the number of staffs at the ticket box. • To promote the film details on the internet. • To increase the profit. • To obtain statistical information from booking record. • Refunds for the tickets are given when the shows are cancelled due to strikes or

bonth in the city, where the theatre is located. Page | 4

• Refund for the cancellation of tickets through courier or by getting the customer’s bank account number in a week.

• To provide the availability of seats in next 3 days. • To provide the Virtual Seats Arrangement Display for the confirmed seats. • Collecting a detailed Profile (I.e.) (Favorite Hero, heroine, Director, Comedian)

from the Customer and providing SMS/Email Alerts to the customers when their favorite hero’s films are released in future days.

• FansClub are provided Concession with the tickets. 1.3Abbreviations:

• J2EE: Java 2 Enterprise Edition is a programming platform— part of the Java Platform—for developing and running distributed multitier architecture Java applications, based largely on modular software components running on an application server.

• DB2: DB2 Database is the database management system that delivers a flexible

and cost effective database platform to build robust on demand business applications.

• WAS: Web sphere application server is an application server that runs business

applications and supports the J2EE and web services standards.

• WSAD: Web sphere studio application developer is a toolkit which is designed for the creation of more complex projects, providing fully dynamic web

• application utilizing EJB’s. This consist of EJB tools , CMP ,data mapping tools & a universal test client that is designed to aid testing of EJB’s.

• HTTP: Hypertext Transfer Protocol is a transaction oriented client/server

protocol between web browser & a Web Server.

• HTTPS: Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol is a HTTP over SSL (secure socket layer).

Communication Interface: Client on Internet will be using HTTP/HTTPS protocol. 2.4Product Functions:

• The user must login the website by his loginId and password. The Administrator will verify the user id and password.

• The user must provide a complete detailed profile in the website. • The administrator will give SMS/Email alerts regarding the films in future to the

user.The user is allowed to select the Ticket Type (ie) class1, 2 and 3.The manager verifies the Ticket type.

• The website will display a list of movies and the user selects the movie from the list.

• The manager checks for the movie availability. The movie timings are given by the administrator.

• The user selects the convenient movie timing and the administrator sends the available seats details for tat timings.

• The confirmation of seats will be given as SMS/Email Alerts. • The virtual seat arrangement display will be provided to the user. • If the seats are not available for the required timing, the administrator will provide

the details of the available seats for the future days. • The exchange of seats is available for the user. The manager will check those

availabilities. • The payment for the tickets is done by Credit/Debit Card.




• The Credit card details are given in the website.The administrator will check the credit card balance and the acknowledgement is given to the user.

• The user is then allowed to print the e-ticket. • During cancelling of tickets, the no.of seats to be cancelled is given in the

website. • Refund for tickets is done through courier or to deposit the amount in the bank by

collecting the user bank account number. • The user sends his bank account number to the administrator and he will provide

the refund by depositing the ticket amount in the bank. • If some strikes or bonth happens in the area where the theatre is located the

violent notification will be given by the manager to the administrator. • The administrator will provide the user about the cancellation of shows by

SMS/Email Alerts. 2.5User Characteristics:

• Every user must have basic knowledge of handling computers and English language.

• Every user should be comfortable with Net Browsing and Online Reservation of Tickets.

• Every user should have an Emailid and Mobile phones. • The users reserving tickets through online should possess a Credit/Debit Card

Login: Customer: The person who reserves the ticket for Cine Mall using online reservation System. Administrator: The person who administers the website for Online Reservation for a Cine mall. Manager: The person who makes the reservation and gives the confirmation of seats to the customer.

• Login-The user enters his login Id and Password for reserving Cinema ticket in online. If the login is correct, the Administrator gives rights to the customer to reserve the ticket from his website.

• Request for Availability: The customer requests the availability of seats to the manager. The manager inturn gets the availability of seats information from the administrator and displays to the customer.

• Register: After logging into the website, the gives his full details in his website, which is checked by the administrator.

• Check and update Database: The customer details are checked and updated by the administrator.

2. Reservation: Customer: The person who reserves the ticket for Cine Mall using online reservation System. Administrator: The person who administers the website for Online Reservation for a Cine mall. Manager: The person who makes the reservation and gives the confirmation of seats to the customer. Clerk-The person who involves in collecting the payment during reservation and refunding during cancellation.

• Select Ticket Type-The customers are given the options to select the Ticket class1, 2 or 3 according to their comfort.

• Select Movie-The customers are given the option to select the movie from the list of movies.

• Display Show Timings-It display timings for the movies. The customers are given the provision to select the convenient timings. If seats are available in those timings, the Administrator will sent an acknowledgement.

• Makes a Reservation: The customer will reserve the seats. The manager does the reservation process and he sends the request to the administrator.




• Confirmation- The administrator verifies the availability of seats and sends those details to the manager.Then, the confirmation of seats to the customer is given by the Manager.

• Payment-The customer pays for his tickets through credit card. The clerk verifies the credit card details and passes the details to the administrator.

• Issue Ticket:The administrator issues the ticket to the Customer in online. Then, he updates the ticket database.

3. Cancellation: Customer: The person who reserves the ticket for Cine Mall using online reservation System. Administrator: The person who administers the website for Online Reservation for a Cine mall. Clerk-The person who involves in collecting the payment during reservation and refunding during cancellation.

• Cancellation of tickets-If the customer cancels the reserved tickets for any reason, the administrator should accept his cancellation and then updates his ticket database.

• Refund of tickets through couriers or deposit in bank account-The clerk provides the refund of tickets by sending the payment through courier to the customer’s address or by depositing the amount in the bank.

• Sign up In order to reserve the tickets, Customer must sign up by filling the sign up form and get it approved by Administrator.

• Sign in

After getting the username and password, Customers can log on to their account and can access the website.

• Open profile

Customer can open his/her profile which contains the personal details which he/she provided during sign up.

• View profile

Customer can view his/her profile which contains the personal details which he/she provided during signup.

• Update profile

Customer can update his/her profile which contains the personal details which he/she provided during sign up if any update required.

• Book Tickets

Customer with their id and password make a ticket reservation either online or manually to see the desired film

• Cancel Tickets

Customer with their id and password cancel the ticket reservation either online or manually. Administrator: • Verify details: Admin authenticates all the Customers and officers by checking their username and password.



Online Reservation for Cine Mall Version 1.0 Software Requirements Specification 28-12-10 Dazzling Daisies • Provides login account: After getting the sign up details from the Customer, Admin provides the username and password to the Customer that should be kept for future login and also admin checks for uniqueness. • Maintain system server: Admin maintains the centralized system server which controls the client computers • Maintain database: Admin maintains the entire database and he is the only authorized person to add/remove the ticket database Manager: • Sign in First the Manager has to sign in to start the work. • Verifying for any new registration The Manager who has logged in can view the new customer registration. • Accepting new registration The Manager can accept the new registration depending upon the details enclosed by customer. • Declining new registration He can also decline if the details enclosed are illegal or not correct • Verifying for any new reservation of tickets The Manager verifies the new customer’s reservation of Tickets.

If the customer cancel his/her tickets ,the clerk send the refund payment through the courier or put in his/her bank account.

3.1Supplementary requirements:

• To provide the Virtual Seats Arrangement Display for the confirmed seats. • Collecting a detailed Profile (I.e.) (Favorite Hero, heroine, Director, Comedian) from the
