QQC Circles play a very important role in involving a wide cross section of employees for improving quality within an organization through participation. In an effort to spread the awareness of the need to Total Quality Management among suppliers, HCI Suppliers Club has been conducting the Quality Circle Competition for the last so many years. The competition provides a unique opportunity to motivate associates to form Quality Circles within the organization and facilitates the exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences on various approaches to problem solving through Quality Circles. Kaizen (Japanese for “improvement” or “change for the better”) is a philosophy or set of practices that focuses on continuous improvement of processes in manufacturing, engineering, supporting business processes, and management. The Kaizen concept stimulates productivity improvement as an ongoing process in companies. The Kaizen Competition is organized every year by HCI Suppliers Club to recognize and encourage member companies to adopt kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement. The competition is conducted for associates and supervisors of Honda supplier companies.
Christmas is just around the corner and sparkling seasonal decorations are already put up both in private homes and in public places. The beautiful Christmas trees and other illuminations around the city help us embrace the holiday spirit. The Japanese tradition of giving small presents to friends and family matches perfectly with the spirit of Christmas, and one can feel everyone’s excitement as they look for the right gift for their dear ones.In Europe and America, Christmas is a holiday with a religious significance, and is a time to be enjoyed with one’s family and relatives. In Japan, however, it’s considered a romantic holiday for couples to spend time together. On a typical Christmas date, couples go to an upscale restaurant and exchange expensive presents. Some people also hold house parties and invite their friends. Christmas cannot be imagined in Japan without the special Christmas cake. Eating Christmas cakes is a Japanese way to celebrate Christmas Eve. You can find a wide range of good-looking Christmas cakes at stores.Although Christmas is not formally a national holiday in Japan, the Japanese culture has welcomed and adopted the season’s traditions and spirit over time. In all the Japanese cities you can enjoy festivals and special events on December 25th, and the locals celebrate the season with sentiment, exchanging small presents and enjoying delicious seasonal food.

Each issue of the ‘Engage’ is published with the Immense effort and time invested by the team and support of all supplier club members.
Every big achievement starts with small progressive steps. To start-off, we must focus on seeking continuous improvement of the shop floor (QC, Kaizen and Waste Reduction) and work towards quality and timely delivery to not just match global standards, but exceed them. This quarter the Club witnessed active participation in all of activities such as Plant Visits, Fire Safety training sessions, training on Lean manufacturing & Energy Management and specially active participation in QC & Kaizen Competitions. This year we got over-whelming participation from Northern region suppliers in QC & Kaizen competition. Let’s keep-up the good work we are doing.
Through this newsletter we aim to communicate with all our suppliers and strengthen our bond with them. Let’s make it a two way communication process. Please write to us with your valuable feedback and help us make this communication even more effective.
