Our Education Model

The Academy follows the Classical Education model of learning called the Trivium. This model has three stages: Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric.

• The Grammar stage focuses on learning facts.

• The Logic stage focuses on understanding.• The Rhetoric stage focuses on integration

and synthesis.

The goal of Classical Education is to progress students through each of these three stages at the appropriate time for each individual.

Our Philosophy

The purpose of Christ Lutheran Academy is to support and assist Christian parents in their God-given responsibility to raise godly children. In addition to offering a high-quality education, we are committed to the Christian faith as taught in the Word of God and confessed in the historic Confessions of the Lutheran Church. Each day, Academy students of all ages worship together in Matins or Divine Service and participate in Bible study, learning the lessons and the language of the Lutheran faith.

Children are gifts of God. Christian parents desire that their children grow up knowing and believing in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and learning to live as faithful, responsible, God-fearing citizens in the world in which God has placed them. It is the goal of Christ Lutheran Academy to do all it can to assist parents in this God-given calling.

Why Christ Lutheran Academy?

The education we offer consists of the following:

• daily Matins or Divine Service;• the centrality of the Divine Service and daily

prayer, according to the church's historic and confessional liturgy of Word and Sacrament;

• the centrality of the Gospel of forgiveness of sins for Christ's sake, in the life of each Christian and of the church;

• faithfully teaching the Word of God and passing on the language of our holy faith, so that children learn how to receive God's gifts in the Divine Service, how to pray, how to confess and how to live where God has called them to live with faith in Christ and to love their neighbors;

• honoring and respecting those in authority as representatives of God, and understanding the place of the Law in secular and spiritual kingdoms;

• a partnership and involvement with parents in their children's education and spiritual growth;

• God's Word integrated into all academic subjects, via worldview that is God-centered, rather than man-centered;

• an education based in the core disciplines and in the humanities: reading, writing, mathematics, sciences, geography, history, literature, music and art;

• the teaching of language, both English and Latin, for learning the art of communication and rhetoric;

• academic standards that demand excellence and achievement; and

• a rigorous physical education curriculum.
