Patience. Let’s just say sometimes it’s hard to wait and be

patient. At least it is for me. I have desires. Family desires. Career desires. Romantic de-sires. You name it. We’ve all got them.

Now I know there are things that I must do in order to achieve my desires and I know that some desires get fulfilled with others.

As long as I stay focused on what I need to do to at-tain my desire, I know that in time I will achieve my desire. This waiting part though… man it’s hard. Particularly when you have to wait for something to come into frui-tion until the time is right.

And sometimes you don’t even know when that time is, but you have to be pa-tient anyways? Now that’s tough. We might have to be patient for God’s timing, or we might have to wait for the other person to do their part. Whatever it is… it can get me very frustrated sometimes.

But this quote by Joni Eareckson Tada got me thinking, “The times we find ourselves having to wait on others may be the perfect op-

portunities to train ourselves to wait on the Lord.”

It’s true. The way we ap-proach this “waiting” time will either make us a better person or a bitter person. Practicing patience allows the Holy Spirit to work in our lives and having patience is the evidence of His work.

It says in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith-fulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things

there is no law.” I want people to see the

evidence of the Holy Spirit at work in my life. Because when they see that, then they can see God. And what bet-ter way to attract people to Jesus? We should be patient because God is patient. Be-gin to exemplify the qualities that God shows us in Psalm 86:15, “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.” Smile and be happy! ∆
