I heard somebody once say that if you think it’s necessary to judge me by my past, don’t get

mad when I put you there. We will all face people who negatively judge us for unneces-

sary reasons. Take this opportunity to understand that what people say about you reveals

more about themselves. Haters will broadcast your failures, but whisper your success. So ig-

nore the sly words of fools and don’t let them steal your joy. Your talents and gifts are waiting

to be put to use by your hands so don’t waste your focus on negativity. Our only limitations are

those we set up in our own minds. I’ve faced a lot of opposition from people and I’d ask God

what did I do wrong. That was the wrong question to ask. I realized the real question to ask

is what am I doing right and how do I do reach more people. In this issue of Chords Maga-

zine (Spring 2012) we feature artists who have faced a lot of haters on their path to success and

how they overcame them. It is our privilege to have Lecrae as the cover story who is currently

the King of Christian Hip-hop.
