Changing the World: Welcoming, Recovery oriented systems and services for people with co-occurring conditions. A workshop with Ken Minkoff, M.D and Christie Cline, M.D, MBA The workshop will discuss core evidence based recovery oriented principles of intervenon for individuals and families with co-occurring mental health and substance use issues, and other complex needs, and demonstrate how those principles can translate into strategies that can be used by any person in any program (MH or AOD) to help people with complex needs make progress toward achieving happy, successful, and meaningful lives. The principles support the vision of a system in which all programs and everyone providing service become welcoming, recovery oriented, and co-occurring capable. In the second part of the day, parcipants will engage in hands on case based praccum learning, applying the principles to "real" clinical situaons. This experienal learning is designed to help parcipants pracce new strategies and make it easier to translate these approaches to their pracce and their programs. She is a Board Cerfied Psychiatrist and also has a Masters in Business Administra- on from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
