THE 5TH WAY OF RELEASING triple welcoming dissolving the Vortex by Hale Dwoskin Right here, right now, there is already happiness, peace and joy—not as some fu- ture attainment, experience or event, but right here, right now. What you are is this perfect presence that is already seeing through those eyes, hearing through those ears, feeling through that body, all being translated and interpreted through the in- ner sounds you hear—called thoughts—that appear in “your” head. All of this is happening here and now…without “your” help. In fact, all attempts to help or hinder this natural and effortless happening are merely more sounds about sounds signifying nothing. Our attempts to modify or change what is appear to prevent us from experiencing this presence of happiness that we are. The 5th Way The 5th Way of releasing is really not a way at all. It is an open, spontaneous inquiry into what is naturally present here and now. It is also a seeing through what appears to be here, for must of us, yet is merely an interpretation, label or story based on what was. This includes the assumption that there is actually a “me” and a “you” that are somehow independent and separate from each other. If you have explored this at all, based on attending one of our Seven- or Nine-Day Retreats or through The Inner Circle audio recordings, you are probably starting to discover this for yourself. The Vortex Even after we have clearly seen through the illusion of a separate, independent entity or self-center called “me,” and are feeling the relief that comes from being what we are, there may still be a momentum behind the old habit patterns. These habit patterns manifest as apparently conflicting sounds, sensations and pictures in awareness, based on what was—and which appear to be fighting with each other over the presence of awareness, without which they could not be. This looks a little like the old cartoons where the dog and the cat are having a wild fight, but all you can see is fur, smoke and paws whirling around each other. This whirl of energy appears to influence behavior, appears to make decisions, appears to influence how “we” experience the livingness that is now. It also give the illusion of some remaining self-center. This, of course, can simply be seen through, and often is seen through now, now, and now.

These are the 5 modalities Van Tharp referred to as: seeing, hearing, feelings, etc. Not to forget that it is your mind that do the translation, which has nothing to do with the true reality.

"what is" is this natural and effortless happening moment by moment. The goal is to let this natural phenomena flow by itself and don't try to interfered. Or put it another way, don't try to change it. What you can do is to response naturally. But anything that is trying to help, etc, will ended up giving you suboptimal solutions.

What appears to be here are only memories ! the moment a thought pop into your head it is already history. What is left is only your interpretation of it. Also, the presence you does not attached to your old memories. Nor does the presence you depended on any future events. The reason it appears to be this or that is subject to your own interpretation of the event, which cannot be the true reality.

The "me" here refers to the physical (or non spiritual) you.

This "self-center" is anything but your "presence" self. It may be attributable to your past self (hence, memories), or some "future" self that you think you may be. For example, you might have some stupid aversion to poverty thoughts like: I won't have a job in the future, my unemployment ran out, I lose money at trading and heavily in debt, I worked at a fast food joint and all my friends just walk in and saw me working at the fast food joint. These are your remaining self-centers. These are nothing but either your memories of who you were, or something that is made up by you all in your mind which you are currently aware of it. Now that I discovered the Sedona method, I realize that I was my own worst enemy.

According to Larry Crane, whatever you feeling is, it is just energy or the "Vortex spin", and energies want to leave. The real you is serene, and imperturbable.

The goal is to see all feelings as energies and energies want to leave. So there is no harm at all to welcome these feeling energies. Once you welcome them, they will leave. Or once you identify a particular feeling by bring it up to your conscious mind, you can let it go.

This "your" is the physical you.

Note that this is the key. Your translation is by definition imperfect, because your 5 senses are not perfect. So although your perfect presence is always perfect, what is in your head is not perfect. So your perfect presence cannot get perfect information from the physical you as long as you are alive and as long as you are not fully release. Once you are fully released, you are at the imperturbability stage.

The fifth way is actually a very effective releasing tool. Once you come to realize that the physical "you" does not exist, except right at the present moment, you will then know that everything in your mind is just memories and you can let all of them go at once ! First bring up your issues via welcoming, focus on your issues and let them be in your consciousness just for now. Then shift your focus to focus on the now moment of me. And when you do that, you have just separate your tied to your issues, hence you have just let them go, at least for the moment !

Notice pre 2 year old kids don't want to change anything, they are truly happy bunch. The trouble is, some parents look at that and say, buddies, when you eventually growth up and out face the cold hard world, you won't feel this way any more ! You see, we are bringing all those problems up or creating all those problems ourselves.

Welcoming is the second method of releasing. The first method of releasing is to let go. So if you welcome something into your consciousness, and then let it go, you are combining the use of 2 releasing methods: method 1 and method 2.

Triple Welcoming Dissolves the Vortex

We created a process that addresses these spins inside of us that you can do any time you would like to go from being lost in a story or complete belief in an old identity to resting as the presence, love and joy that you are.What also can be “done”—or may simply happen spontaneously—is that these habit patterns from the past can be welcomed fully as one vortex of energy spinning in or on the presence of awareness that you are. This naturally causes them to dissolve. Triple Welcoming is a three-step process that may happen spontaneously or with our apparent help. You can “use” the following process for any issue, problem, belief or feeling that you would like to release:

Step OneAllow yourself to welcome the pictures, sensations and sounds that arise in or as this pattern. Welcome as well the labels, sto-ries, judgments, and conclusions—concepts that arise with or as this spin of energy.

Step TwoAllow yourself to welcome any desire to do anything with this spin or issue, including wanting get rid of it or change it or want-ing to hold onto it or make it real, as well as any attachment or aversion to the issue. You may even recognize that wanting to do something is simply part and parcel of more of the same spin.

Step ThreeAllow yourself to welcome any sense that this whole spin or issue is personal – is about you or who you are – any sense of me or mine, them or theirs.

When we welcome all three aspects of the spin, it feels as though it breaks free inside and often we actually experience a spinning sensation as it naturally and effortlessly spins itself out of existence. We are simply noticing the spin that was always there. It is as if we suddenly felt the spin of the earth. The earth spins at over 1,000 miles an hour at the equator and is spinning around the sun at 60,000 miles an hour, yet we do not feel this because we feel attached to the earth as we have felt attached to or part of these internal spins.

Simply allow the whole spin to have its own momentum. As this happens, the spin stops being fed by “you,” and it dissolves on its own accord.

At any moment, you may notice that this whole spin has no center or is about no one. I highly encourage you to explore this for yourself without expectation of any result as best you can. Everyone who has explored this application of The 5th Way has been amazed by its power.

This means allow yourself to welcome all the conflicting physical (non spiritual) sounds, pictures, etc, that are happening in your mind right now. This pattern is not a story. It is a snap shot at a moment in time.

The moment you allow all 3 at the same time, you completely detach the real you with this vortex of energy, and the vortex naturally dissolve instantly. When these issues crop up, you really feel this is personal; it is a personal attack to your character. So welcome that, because that is how you really feel at the physical level. You can even accept that at the physical level. But wait a minute; this has nothing to do with your real self, or your spiritual self, which is totally separate from your physical self. Therefore, when you can clearly feel all 3 aspects of the spin at once, you completely detach the issue from your spiritual self, and the issue naturally dissolves.

Note that these 3 steps combined ignore the step of letting go, as letting go is the first method of releasing. And welcoming is the second method of releasing. After you bring up all these pictures, sounds, etc., into your consciousness, these energies should pass away from your awareness all by themselves, because they are not being fed by you, and providing you do not re-suppress them. Now if that is not enough, you are free to also bring in the first method of releasing in conjunction to this second method of releasing which is welcoming.

The real key here is to welcome and not to change or modify these natural phenomenon. While at the same time, securely locking in the images in mind and see them clearly, then allow these feelings to pass through your consciousness.

Why is when we welcome all three aspects of the spin, it feels and as though it breaks free inside? Because we are welcoming both sides of the spinning energy, i.e., the attachments and aversions of the same issue ! Once you welcome all 3 aspects of the spin into your consciousness and let all the energies spin in the presence of awareness. Say to yourself: it's ok, let it go, softly and calmly, and the energies will spin themselves out of existence. This is like the Chinese saying: "self comfort self". This is what therapists do, they try to get you to talk about your feelings, so you can dig them up, and just by digging the feelings up, the feelings will escape, if you don't suppress them again. This is equivalence to letting the feelings go. Now these feelings are not only limited to negative feelings, these feelings can also be positive feelings which you have suppressed in the past. The point is, all feelings, whether it is conscious or subconscious, will color your thoughts !

You can also welcome how you want to "defend" your story. For example, if you are unemployed and you see your formal colleague in the shopping mall, so you feel you need to cook up a "story" to "defend" why you are ok to be unemployed, or use the story to justify you are ok to be unemployed.
