SUPPORT TAIWAN ATHLETES TO BECOME MORE INTERNATIONAL Challenge Family has grown from a community and it is our philosophy to do something for every country we settle in. Triathlon is our business and athletes are our Family, thus we want to offer the local top athletes the opportunity representing Taiwan racing in our biggest events overseas! TAIWAN 14. BE PART OF THE JOURNEY Participation in a Challenge event is a lifetime experience where destinations and sponsors are integral partners on the journey. Triathlon is a lifestyle sport. Challenge Family, and its key partners, are with the athletes and their families and supporters at every step of their journey from the moment the decision is made to complete a long distance triathlon. Many of our athletes fall in love with our host venues and return for holidays unassociated with the race. Financially speaking, Challenge events have a significant and positive economic impact on host cities. Athlete participation and visitation has an incredible effect on numerous industry sectors ranging from accommodation houses through to gas stations, restaurants and retail shopping. Unlike many events that may impact on revenues, occupancies and general trade for a single day, the impact of Challenge events are felt over numerous days as athletes and supporters visit the race city days ahead to acclimatize, settle and familiarize themselves with the town and racecourse. Challenge participants are high-yield visitors. Economic impact studies reports from many venues show that competitors on average travel with 2.5- 3.5 people including family and friends to race destinations, all of whom spend freely into the local economy. Event related television and media coverage also provides a significant boost to the general tourism industry of host cities. 15. OUR ATHLETE COMMITMENT The excellent relationships we share with the worlds elite triathletes ensure strong pro fields at all Challenge Family events, attracting a high level of media attention and inspiring age groupers, from the experienced to first timers, to race alongside them. While focus is put on the superstars of the sport, Challenge Family also places a strong emphasis on growing the sport at grass roots level, encouraging participation and excellence amongst amateur athletes, who make up 98% of the competitive field. The unique relay team element of Challenge Family events widens the target audience, allowing more people to be involved and experience the sport of triathlon. Some recent accolades received by Challenge races include, Challenge Roth voted the Race of the Year for 2011 & 2012 by readers of Europes largest triathlon magazine, beating Ironman Hawaii by more than 25% of the votes. Challenge Barcelona was voted as Spains #1 Triathlon in 2010 and 2011 and Challenge Copenhagen was shortlisted for the prestigious ISEM Awards in its first year. 16. BACK UP 2013 20. TAIWAN as for feedback, I honestly don't have TOO many things to be fixed. what i have been telling people is that to me it was very noticeable that you are like a real, legit triathlete--because there were a lot of small details that, especially in a first-year race, would have been overlooked, but you had them dialed because you were in tune with what we would need. i truly think it makes a difference that you are so actively racing as you thought of so many details that matter to us.- Hillary Biscay Good day Michael, Patrice here from TTCT. Just a quick note to thank you and your team for putting up a great race. It was my first Challenge raceand I have to sayit was a great event. I will most likely be back next year with more members of my team to participate. Safe swim, nice bike course and great run course (honestly a great run course). - Patrice Robustelli Honestly you put on an amazing race- you should be so proud of yourself. Justin and I absolutely loved our time in Taiwan. You are an amazing man. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Justin and I- you went above and beyond for us both- we really appreciate all that you did for us and I am just so glad I could repay you by getting the win. - Belinda & Justin Granger Huge thanks to you and the whole challenge Taiwan team. It was a great event to be involved in. The organization was fantastic the expo and event staff were all extremely helpful! Thanks again mate, - Todd Skipworth Thank you again and yes I am sure I will be back in Taitung I next next year with the new Australian races there are great possibilities and for me I can already see my schedule: CHALLENGE Wanaka - CHALLENGE Batemans Bay - CHALLENGE Taiwan. It works perfectly. -Dylan Mcneice The race was the most amazing that I have done. People were friendly and cheering and the volunteers were all adorable and helpful. You couldn't find a better venue. Scenic and challenging. i really enjoyed racing it and giving everything I could. All the other organizers have been absolutely wonderful and helpful. Big big congratulations. - Olivier Courret Thanks for a great race. We came over to see the Challenge brand in operation and to see what all the hype was about. I must say that it was a very positive experience. I hope you will appreciate some constructive feedback as I do like what you, and Felix and co are doing for the sport that is my passion. -Andrew O'Regan Congratulations for the organization of such an amazing race! it was one of the best races I have ever done! The course, the organization, everything made this race a great race! you did an amazing job putting it together! - Raynard Picard 21. TAIWAN MEDIA EXPOSURE 2013 19 Mio.
