The JA Stock Market ChallengeThe JA Stock Market Challenge
How it works!How it works!
The JA Stock Market Challenge is an unpredictable ride through the highs and lows of the stock market! All the energy and excitement of the stock trading floor is simulated in this inno-vative, high-tech event. Teams of four compete in a race to accumulate the highest portfolio.
May the Best Traders Win!
Each team begins the game with $500,000 trading dollars to invest in fictitious stock.
Once the trading begins, every 80 seconds is a new trading day in a volatile market!
Players track their stock portfolio and their team’s standings on three massive screens.
Teams buy and sell stocks from “traders” equipped with hand-held computers that instantly send trades to the system.
Throughout the event, teams receive News Releases and Hot Stock Tips to help them evaluate stock performance.
The team with the largest portfolio after 60 days of trading WINS!
Fabulous prizes are awarded to the top three teams and the number one team gets the honor of taking the JA Stock Market Challenge Traveling Bull trophy home for the year!
They have the dream. You inspire the pursuit. Become a Junior Achievement classroom volunteer and change the lives of Western New York students.
We need volunteers for the fall and spring semesters to teach JA programs. The time commitment is minimal, but the impact is phenomenal!

ment in its efforts to raise educational achievement in the areas of financial literacy, entrepreneurship and
workforce readiness. Through your involvement in the Stock Market Challenge more children will reap the
benefits of our programs; gaining the leadership skills, confidence and knowledge that will improve their
lives and secure their futures.
As a corporate sponsor, you will be giving WNY High School students the opportunity to take part in this
high tech stock market simulation, as well as providing them with ongoing financial literacy and economic
education in the form of JA programs presented in their classrooms throughout the year.

The Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge has been
the finest financial educational program I have experienced.
The experience and knowledge that I have taken from this pro-
gram have significantly increased my interest in business, the stock
market, and finance overall.
This experience showed me how to manage money effectively and wisely to invest it into the game.
