Just over one hour from Sydney and Newcastle, the Central Coast is home to some ofAustralia’s best known food and beverage producers and a range of professional and publicsector services.

The Central Coast’s lower business operating costs attract relocating companies.

The Central Coast contributes A$10.9 billion to the NSW economy and has a population of 342,047. It has a skilled and mobilelabour force, and around 25% of the Central Coast Council area’s resident workers travel outside of the area to work.

Over 58% of residents are tertiary educated, of which 22% have a science, technology, engineering or mathematicsqualification. The proportion of people aged over 65 is also increasing, providing opportunities in aged care services.

The Central Coast is globally connected to markets via the SydneyInternational Airport, Port Botany (Sydney) and the Port of Newcastle, allaround an hour away. 81% of households are connected to the internet.

The region is serviced by the Sydney-Newcastle railway line, and improvements to key highways will reduce travel times andimprove goods movements along the eastern seaboard.

The Gosford and Wyong hospitals, University of Newcastle's Central Coast campus and TAFE campuses, and a wide selection ofquality public and private schools provide excellent health care and education.

Commercial real estate in Gosford is on average A$300 per square metre for office rent per annum, compared to A$695 inMelbourne’s CBD, while industrial rent is on average A$110 per square metre in Gosford .

Development of a state-of-the-art Central Coast Medical School and Research Institute within a new Health andWellbeing Precinct at Gosford Hospital will deliver world-class health, research and education outcomes for therapidly-growing community.

Nine community health care centres in addition to Gosford Hospital.⟩

Gosford Hospital's new 11-storey tower opened in June 2018. This is part of a A$348 million redevelopment deliveringnext-generation, first-class health care to the Central Coast.

A$200 million Wyong Hospital redevelopment. This will include emergency, surgical, acute care, maternity, paediatric,inpatient medical and surgical beds, rehabilitation, mental health and ambulatory care.
