Albury Regional Swimming Carnival
As I am writing this week’s report our primary students Lucy Bolton, Xavier
Jones and Hayden Payne are competing in Albury at the Regional Carni-
val. I will report next week on their results.
Thank you.
I would like to acknowledge the tireless efforts and support of the Coleam-
bally Central School P & C. This is a small and hardworking group involved
in applying for grants, operating the school canteen and raising funds to
support school resources and projects.
A heartfelt thank you is also extended to the P & C as at last week’s meet-
ing they generously agreed to contribute $50 per student towards the reg-
istration costs for those attending the Combined High Schools State Swim-
ming Carnival in Sydney 2-4 April.
Parent/ Teacher Interviews
K-6 Parent/Teacher interviews will be held during Week 10. A note will be
sent home with students and you will be asked to nominate your preferred
times for the interviews, then return the sheet to the front office. Once
sheets have been returned students will be notified of their interview time.
Year 7-12 Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Tuesday 21 March
from 4:30 -7pm. A booking sheet will be sent home and students will need
to make the booking with their teachers.
Prior to the secondary parent/teacher interviews we are holding an after-
noon tea to welcome the community to our school from 4-4:30pm. We
hope you will join us for some light refreshments, meet our staff and take
the opportunity to see some of the great work our students are producing.

Positive Behaviour for Learning
(PBL)
At Coleambally Central School, we are dedicated to quality learning through the promotion of respectful and responsible
behaviour in a safe environment.
It’s the Central Way
Our values are:
Be Responsible
Be Safe
Be Respectful
These values are supported by students, staff, P and C and CCS’s PBL team through the implementation of Positive Behav-
iour for Learning (PBL).
PBL works on the theory that expected behaviours should be explicitly taught as with any core subject. Extrinsic rewards
are used to support the explicit teaching of behaviours. Students need to be reminded many times in order to change a
behaviour. Eventually these extrinsic rewards will no longer be required as it will become intrinsic.
PBL has been implemented in the playground at CCS for just over two years with positive success with regards to improved
behaviours in the playground. This term we will continue to focus on the playground – especially with new students enrol-
ling at CCS. 2017 will see the extrinsic rewards for positive behaviour in the playground slowly removed. The aim is to
move into the classroom during the second half of this year.

ing raffle tickets for an Easter hamper. The tickets will be sold
