Temporary SASS Staff 2020 In other staffing news I can announce to the school community that Mrs Pauline Brown will be retiring as a member of SASS staff at the end of this year. Part time SASS staff member Mrs Sinead Burton will also be leaving us, moving with Mr Burton to Newcastle. This means that we will have two temporary School Administration Officer vacancies next year, one full time position and one part time position. Please find an advertisement for these positions attached to the newsletter. Finally…. This week I am on leave. Please contact a member of the executive if you have an urgent matter. Our door is and always has been open – whether you are happy, sad or mad. We need to know if we are not doing some-thing right, but I also need to know that you trust our motives and intentions. Everything we do, every single day is for YOUR children. Until next week,

This term in Library Year 2/3 have been reading and viewing Horton Hears a Who!

We shared the story and made some clovers to go in the Jungle of Nool.

After finishing the book we watched the Horton Hears a Who! movie. We identified

similarities and differences between the book and the movie. We then used lots of

bits and pieces (boxes, straws, paper, textas and tape) to create our own city.

On Tuesday morning years 2–10 students were treated to a live performance by Sydney band Amber Lights. They were on a

schools tour with Fusion Riverina and had the students rocking along in their seats.

Christmas Charity Hamper In the next few weeks, Coleambally Central would like as many students as possible, to contribute towards a charity hamper.

A Salvation Army representative will be attending the Primary Reverse Santa celebration, on 16th December. She will be invited to accept our hamper, to sort and distribute the items among families who are doing it tough. With the on-going drought and recent bushfires, some families are in need of a little extra help at this time of year. If you would like to contribute, any non-perishable items would be gratefully accepted. Such items could include tinned food, dried food, men's and women's toiletries, socks, hair brushes, combs, sunscreen, stationery items etc. There will be a basket near the front office in which to put any donations. Primary class Christmas Parties On Monday, 16th December, class Christmas Parties are happening at lunchtime. This is the same day as Reverse Santa, which is in the morning. Class teachers will send home a separate note detailing what each student is to bring for their party and what is required for the water-play activities on the oval after lunch. We are all looking forward to having a busy and fun day. Mrs Lothian

Yoga Every Wednesday at lunchtime a group of Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 students go to the Hall for yoga with Ashlea Pound. We have learnt a few yoga moves so far. These moves include Downward Dog, Cat and Cow, Bridge and some more. Some are very challenging. Everyone that goes to yoga has lots of fun and it helps them calm down. When you are stressed out you can come to yoga in the Hall to relax, settle down and get out of the heat. By Alex Pound and Damon Pound
