STEM STEM refers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. STEM education enhances student learning experiences through engaging curriculum that may include integration, inquiry and project-based learning. Students apply knowledge, deepen their understanding and develop high-order thinking skills within an authentic context, so they can fulfil future career aspirations that require STEM skills. Last week secondary students began using the Virtual Reality (VR) Kit and today Tanya Reiach, STEM educator for the department, will be working with students at Tirkandi Inaburra on robotics. Japanese Story telling Next Monday, 18 March 2019 students in primary and Year 7 will be immersed in a Japanese cultural experi-ence when Jarrod Hoare visits as part of an incursion for Japanese Storytelling. A bilingual entertainer, Jarrod educates and inspires through performing arts, specializing in traditional Japanese comic theatre (Kyōgen) and traditional comic storytelling (Rakugo). Having worked on many Japanese films and TV shows, he has worked with many of Japan’s most talented actors, musicians and comedians. We are looking forward to his visit. National Ride 2 School Day As part of the schools primary PDHPE syllabus, primary students will participate in National Ride 2 School Day on Friday, 22 March 2019. This annual event is keenly supported by students and should once again be a great experience, with a focus on developing road safety skills. Finally…. Our door is and always has been open – whether you are happy, sad or mad. We need to know if we are not doing something right, but I also need to know that you trust our motives and intentions. Everything we do, every single day is for YOUR children. Until next week,
